Westeros, clearly!

The Complete Land that Time Forgot (Caspak, #1-3)

You know, dinos.

Time Siege (Time Salvager #2)

This world's messed up.

Logan's Run (Logan, #1)

Game over at age 21? No thanks!

Mushroom Kingdom would be fun... at first.

The 100 (The 100, #1)

Mt. Weather might not be bad...

Maybe just for a visit...

The Hunger Games (The Hunger Games, #1)

Probably rather obvious, but Panem= bad news.

Divergent (Divergent, #1)

I'm sorry but Chicago is a mess here...

  1. I definitely wouldn't want to live in any of these worlds, too! I've only read The Hunger Games and Divergent from here, but others are still a clear NOPE. The dinos would be the worst--I'd be crushed within 10 minutes or less!

  2. The world of The 100 didn't start out too bad, Imean yeah it was a bit dangerous and more for the outdoorsy types but a it went on it got progressivly more and more deőressing and desperate. Heading into the direction where everybody dies.

  3. Nice picks! It's funny, so many of the books I read are in modern settings though tweaked in some way! I would definitely want to avoid these places in their current times and whatnot! Lol!

    Here's my Tuesday Post

    1. Right- like urban fantasies that might be a just BIT too dangerous ha!!!

  4. I kind of love that you have a "contemporary" place on your list, though I think Riverdale's residents are a little OTT for my taste. >.< Fantasy places are so extreme. They are either really wonderful or really scary. There is like no in-between.

    1. Exactly! And yeah I had a little fun adding a contemp place- Riverdale would be a little cray cray, I think!

  5. I picked Panem as one of my don't-visit worlds, too.

And I totally agree with Sam. Fantasy worlds are never neutral places. It's one extreme or the other.

Here is our Top Ten Tuesday. Thank you!

    1. I think a lot of people did- it's just so messed up! And agreed about the fantasy worlds!

  6. I say NOPE to any dystopian world tbh. XD

    1. Right? I like to read about 'em, but living there- no thanx!

  7. Hunger Games made my list too!

  8. OMG...I totally agree! Or anywhere underground or in a cave!

    ReplyDelete
  9. Hunger Games is interesting to watch, but I sure wouldn't want to live there either. There's no way I'd be clever or long winded enough not to end up dead very quickly.(lol) Great post! Hugs...RO

    1. Ha right? No gladiator style games for me!!!

  10. As much as I love dinosaurs, I wouldn't want to be in a dinosaur world! Same with the Hunger Games and Westeros!

    1. Right! I almost added Extinction Trials to this list, because again dinos...

  11. I would love to see a dragon in GoT but pretty sure it would scare the heck out of me. I loved your list and comments. I picked Panem and Westros as well. The food always sounded good in the Capital in Hunger Games so maybe just a quick meal and get outta there!

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. A dragon in person would be... terrifying? Unless at a distance. :) Thanks! And yeah one good thing about Panem (the capital anyways) would be the food, I agree! Maybe a banquet and then hightail out!

  12. I agree with the ones I'm familiar with on your list, for sure! I laughed when I saw the mushroom kingdom but I agree.

    1. Ha the mushroom kingdom would be fun, but kinda dangerous??

  13. I haven't read all of these but the ones I have (or watched on TV), I agree, nope, not for me. I always thought I would want to live in a small town until watching Riverdale! :P

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Yeah a small town from a good cozy mystery maybe, but Riverdale... no!

      Delete
  14. I've only read The Hunger Games, but yeah, definitely don't want to be visiting Panem. I would die right away I'm sure. haha

  17. Great list! Panem and Westeros made my list this week, too - they're just not a safe place to be AT ALL.

    ReplyDelete
  18. Hahaha - fun topic. Yeah, I will take a pass on all those too.

  19. I definitely wouldn't want to live in George R. R. Martin's world. Everyone dies! Not to mention the white walkers. Nope! I feel like I'd have a better chance in the Hunger Games. LoL

    1. His world is too depressing. :) And yes I think as messed up as it is, the chances of survival in Panem are higher!

      Delete
  20. Yeah I would definitely take a pass on Panem, and you're way too likely to die in Riverdale for me to ever want to go there!

  21. Very good point about Mushroom Kingdom--maybe just for a quick visit. Westeros is also a definite no. I never though about not wanting to visit Riverdale, but I think you're right that it probably wouldn't be a great destination...great list!

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. The Mushroom Kingdom would be fun- for a short while! And ya Riverdale could be problematic!

      Delete
  22. Any dystopian world is an automatic no. It is only good for the people that are on the top of society xD

    ReplyDelete
  23. Ah yes I agree for the ones I did try

    ReplyDelete
  24. I totally agree with your choices from the ones that I've read. Great list!

  25. Winter is coming... and yeah, I wouldn't want to be there. Ha ha. 😁

    1. Right? Although it's 94 here today and HOT- maybe I want winter to come :)

  26. I definitely agree with the worlds you've included that I'm familiar with for the most part. I still maintain that Panem might not be so bad if you lived in the Capitol though.

Have a great week. - Katie

  27. Great list! Panem and Divergent's version of Chicago would be terrifying places to live.

    ReplyDelete
  28. I'd add I Am Legend's Los Angeles, unless I was already a vampire of course

    ReplyDelete
  29. Panem is no, thank you...

I'd probably die in Westeros in two days and I definitely wouldn't want to live there, but, given the chance, I'd pay a short visit to King's Landing just to look around...

    1. King's Landing would be awesome to VISIT, I agree!

  30. I would visit Riverdale but while I am there, can I tell those kids what a hot mess they are...and ask Betty was the heck was up with taking Chick in, and tell Jughead to run far far away while he still can. Okay, enough River Rant. I would like to see dinos, but from afar...very very far away.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Yes, provide guidance to those kids lol. All their silly decisions. And yes I would love to see dinos... from a distance as well!

      Delete
  31. I don't think I'd survive long in The 100 world. Also any world that has dinosaurs. Still confused why people in Jurassic Park movies want to bring them back and for entertainment no less.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Right? Leave the dinos be!! And The 100 world!!!!!!!!

      Delete
  32. This was a good twist on the question. Most of the time it's worlds you DO want to live in & I'm always surprised when people pick dystopian worlds. Maybe they're more bad ass that I and want to test their skills lol

    1. Ha more power to 'em but I'll take dystopian worlds in books only ha ha!To live in, I want somewhere nicer... maybe the nice quiet Shire!

      Delete
  33. Nope. Too many bad places :)

    ReplyDelete
  34. I'd live in Westeros! Just someplace like Casterly Rock or the Eyrie when there are explicitly no wars going on 😂

    ReplyDelete
  35. Misread this at first and thought it was the usually places you want to live in and could not figure out why you would want to live in some of these places!

    ReplyDelete
  36. I couldn't survive in any of these worlds. I'm too fluffy! If I was in the Game of Thrones world, I’d be one of those snow zombies. I’d be dead in 5 minutes.

Aj @ Read All The Things!

    ReplyDelete
  37. Mario. LOL! It could get really tiring. :)

    ReplyDelete
  38. I'd live in Westeros only if I was in some isolated place or no one knew about me. If you're important, you're probably dead.

    ReplyDelete
  39. I could not do this topic because I want to live in all the places, even if they suck! Especially Panem and The 100's post apocalyptic wasteland. Even Divergent Chicago. And the people of Riverdale never seem bored at least! But one I DO agree with is Logan's Run- I mean, if you KNOW you're dead at 21... nope, hard pass on that. Oh, and the Mushroom Kingdom, that looks exhausting, all the running, jumping, killing toxic plant-people... and for what gain? They don't even have Netflix!

    ReplyDelete
  40. Ah, Westeros, where no one is ever truly safe. Nope, I wouldn't want to be a character in that series either :P

    ~Mogsy @ BiblioSanctum

    ReplyDelete
  41. OMG MARIO!!! Yeah, I could only having hammers thrown at me for so long, and always being told 'The Princess is in another castle'. Nobody got time for that!

    ReplyDelete
  42. Love dystopian worlds but not many you would want to live in. Great list Greg!

    ReplyDelete
  43. Westeros and Hunger Games made my list as well. Both are big nopes from me, lol. I forgot about Divergent or else Chicago would have made my list too.

    ReplyDelete
  44. I wold definitely not want to live in the world from The 100. I see the torture that some of those characters go through and I know I wouldn’t last in that world lol!

    ReplyDelete
  45. Great choices! Some of these many me laugh out loud, especially Mushroom Kingdom, lol.

    ReplyDelete
  46. That Wesley Chu series is so good - totally wouldn't want to live there though!

    ReplyDelete
  47. What, you mean you don't want to run from dinos all the time? I love that you even thought of the Mushroom Kingdom, let alone included it lol. But like, mushrooms and turtles that attack you? Walking around in sewers? You're right, not a world I want to live in :-P

    ReplyDelete
  48. Yeah all of these look terrible and the Mushroom Kingdom mention made me laugh. I always die almost instantly the first time I start playing until I get the hang of it so I think it wouldn't be so great in real life. I've also decided that while I love historical fiction of all kinds I don't want to live there Between the bulky dresses and lack of hot running water I don't think I'd enjoy it!

    ReplyDelete
  49. Man, I'm sorry I missed this Top Ten topic! I like all your picks and I would've also picked Divergent and Hunger Games for sure. I also would've said no to the Blade Runner world though it is fun to think about.

    ReplyDelete
  50. Oh yeah completely agree with you on Westeros, Panem, and Divergent Chicago. Love all those books but they are not fun worlds. great list!

    ReplyDelete
  51. *shudder*

The Divergent and THG worlds are on my forever NO visit list. Also, I've never read/seen Game of Thrones, but OHMYWORD! That world is the king of terrifying. Or so it seems.

Thanks for visiting Finding Wonderland, Greg.
