This is part two of a discussion about sexy (or not) song lyrics. I was musing in the first post about whether popular music is overwhelmingly about love and/ or sex, and I found a wide array of songs that fit both categories. So here's my second go- around of songs with a decidedly sexual nature.

SexyBack is DEF not about love, and it is a damn good song - the whole album is, really. His best album, I think. I kind of love JT. I joke that it's the longest relationship I've ever been in (going back to when I was 15 and *NSYNC was getting started...)

DeleteI like SexyBack as well. I guess you could say I'm pretty accustomed to sexual song lyrics since Prince is my favorite artist. Have you listened to One Thing by INXS? It's probably one of my favorite by them and it has the one you mentioned topped when it comes to sexual innuendos. Great post!
ReplyDeleteOoh two for sExyback! And yes Prince has the market cornered- it's hard to shock after some of HIS music. I amost picked Wish We Were Married by him but I knew the f- bombs were there. :) And yes I LOVE The One Thing!!!
DeleteWow, the lyrics in that first song are just... huh. Lol. For some reason I thought that said "Hot Dog for Teacher" at first, and I'm not sure which is worse, haha. Miley Cyrus got a lot of hate for a while, but I actually like that song. The video is weird, but I just really like the sound of the song. It pleases my ears lol.

DeleteSooo many songs have sexy lyrics or just plain sex in the lyrics. They don't even try to hide it anymore. I don't care, if I like a song, I like it regardless.

Wow, The Lemon Song is... well, it's too much hahah. And I feel like I never notice how sexual (or in some cases, messed up- still looking at you, Lemon) a song's lyrics are until I see them in print and then I feel like a dumbass for not knowing. Like I would have taken Knocking at Your Back Door literally- like "oh nice, he stopped by for a visit", but seeing it this list... I now understand that isn't what they mean AT ALL, oops? 😂
