Is this really the end of March? My birthday is today and I don't have much planned other than going out to dinner with family. And seeing my niece who I don't see that often. Hopefully I'll get some book time in too. :) Otherwise it's been a good week. I posted my second Movies That Suck post this past week- featuring Maximum Overdrive. A truly bad movie, let me just say...
Reading was decent this week, I finished up The French Girl and also Diamond Girl, the new Julie Mulhern short that is part of the Country Club Murders. And this week Movies That Suck will be... Tremors!
Last week I reviewed Obsidio and did a discussion post on movie tie- in covers.

Happy birthday, Greg! I hope you have a great day!
ReplyDeleteThanks Angela!
DeleteHappy Birthday!!!!! I am looking forward to your thoughts on The French Girl.
ReplyDeleteThanks Jolene!!!
DeleteHappy birthday Greg! Can't wait to hear your thoughts on Tremors π
ReplyDeleteTremors should be fun lolol
DeleteHappy Birthday!!! Hope you have a great day and wonderful week ahead!
ReplyDeleteI just picked up Annihilation to read before I see the film! :)
ReplyDeleteOoh I hope you like it!
DeleteLoved all of the photos on this post! Awesomeness! I really enjoyed The French Girl although it was kind of dark...I love Julie Ahern!
ReplyDeleteThanks Patty!
DeleteHappy birthday!! Tremors... LOL. I loved that movie, too. Feel free to include how much Reba sucked in that, though. :)
ReplyDeleteThanks! Yeah Tremors... I'm kinda excited for this one!
DeleteHappy Birthday Greg! Mine is next month.
ReplyDeleteTremors should be a fun one. Although I really liked the first one but the sequels gradually delve into more bad territory as they go on.
Thanks Karen. I had fun with Tremors, but the sequels? You are brave...
DeleteHappy Birthday Greg!! My husband's birthday was Thursday - it's birthday week :) Sounds like you have a nice evening planned! Enjoy it.
ReplyDeleteLooking forward to your Tremors review... I've actually seen that one, years ago. And yeah, bad! LOL Have a great week :)
Tremors WAS bad- but so fun to pick apart too. Hope you guys had a great birthday too!
DeleteOk, I will give you this one. The whole Tremors franchise is just cheesy. But I still watched all the movies. Looking forward to reading what you thought of the movie.
ReplyDeleteHappy birthday!!
Ha right? I've only seen the first one?!?
DeleteHappy Birthday Greg!!!!
ReplyDeleteHAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!! I hope it's a good one. :D I'm finishing up Obsidio, can't believe it's the end of the series. I'm sure Kristoff and Kaufman will have more magic for us in the future.
ReplyDeleteHave a wonderful weekend, Greg! =)

Happy birthday, Greg! Hope you enjoy the family dinner and that you have a fabulous dessert. :) Space Age Love Song! Love that one. I enjoyed that deleted scene. I've never seen it before.
ReplyDeleteHappy birthday! Have a great time at dinner with your family!
ReplyDeleteI can't wait to read Obsidio. Waiting on the hardcover now! Such a great series and I hope they are made into movies! That stag on the tree is stunning. I once saw a deer on a tree. Took my breath away and wished I'd had a camera.
ReplyDeleteYay, I look forward to your discussion of Tremors! That's another "sucky movie that actually rocks" for me. I was terrified of it as a child, but watched it again recently and it was such a shot of nostalgia. I don't know why it frightened me so much when I was younger, it was so off the wall. I had a lot of fun rewatching it again though.

Happy Birthday! I hope you had a great one, because I'm late, haha. π
ReplyDeleteI LOVE the art you showed this week - they're all amazing. π
Bookwyrming Thoughts
I loved The French Girl and Sunburn.
ReplyDeleteI adore the Julie Mulhern series, so I guess I need to read the short.
Great images, too. Enjoy the week, and thanks for visiting my blog.
Happy birthday! Ooo, Sunburn has been getting good reviews. Enjoy.
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday!!!
ReplyDeleteIt is weird that it is April now.
ReplyDeleteHappy belated birthday again. My husband had his birthday yesterday too. :)
Tremors is AWESOME, though! Love all the art work. Have a great week :)
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday, Greg!
ReplyDeleteI remember that scene from the book of A New Hope! I always wondered why it didn't make it into the movie. I kinda get it now ;)
I can't remember, was that the only scene that was in the books but was cut? It's been ages since I last read them.
Have a great week!
Happy birthday Greg! I hope you had a good dinner and catching up with your family!
ReplyDeleteI hope you had a fabulous birthday dinner, and if you went out, I hope you ordered something delicious and expensive. XD Once again, I have not seen this movie that sucked. I am familiar with it though. I mean, Kevin Bacon. I just finished Obsido last night. It was so emotional. Lots of tears, but I was happy with the ending.
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday! Hope you have a great day. I still have to read Gemina...but I don't want my heart to be shattered or get super stressed xD
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday!!
ReplyDeleteYou reminded me I'm behind and I still need to read the book before Obsidio. I think I'll get right on that! I DID start it a while back... And may I say that I take great offense in you implying that Tremors is a movie that "sucks". That is movie is one of THE best B movies EVAH!! I first saw it in college and the beauty of Alex P. Keaton's liberal dad being a gun toting nut/survivalist is beyond reproach. No pressure but I'm looking forward to your review :D Happy Easter!!!
Happy Birthday and Happy Easter!!

Happy Birthday - WHAT a cool day to have as your birthday date! I hope you have a lovely day. Tremors is one of my favourite films - and many thanks for the extract from the old Star Wars movie - Luke before he became an embittered old misery...
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday and goodbye March! I had no idea about that deleted scene, thanks for sharing. Enjoy the day.
ReplyDeleteHappy birthday!
ReplyDeleteI love the idea of "Movies That Suck" posts and now have to go check those posts out!

ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday! Have a great week!

ReplyDeleteHappy, happy birthday! I hope you have a wonderful time with your family. Tremors...lol.
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday - hope it's a great one. I love The Sound of Rain. What awesome artwork. I have to admit, I like the first Tremors - and all its cheesiness. But nope, it never was meant to win any awards!
ReplyDeleteHappy little late birthday! Hope you had a great time visiting with your family :)
ReplyDeleteHmmm, I'm curious about the Country Club Murders books...
ReplyDeleteOh, happy birthday! Belatedly!
My STS (with bonus bunny pics!).
I am super glad that your terrible movie idea is again going to feature a terrible movie that is actually awesome. Tremors is awesome, in a totally ridiculous way! I look forward to the discussion!!
ReplyDeleteIdk how it is April, but I am here for it. Though it is supposed to snow here tomorrow, so... maybe it's a prank? Oooh Tremors is new to me, I won't even know any of the ridiculous clips like the last two! Intrigued! I want to go to the Space Bar. That is probably where Monty sells his moonshine. The Sea Station one is so peaceful looking, too!
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday, Greg! I hope you had a wonderful day!!
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday!! I hope your day was awesome! Enjoy the books!
ReplyDeleteHope you ended up having a fantastic birthday! I love that "Wandering" pic!

ReplyDeleteAll kinds of goodness in this blog post... and you totally reminded me that I need to have a Star Wars marathon soon! - https://www.domesticgeekgirl.com
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday Greg! I think I've seen Tremors, it's um interesting.
ReplyDeleteHappy birthday Greg! OMG you've read Obsidio, I've seen so much hype about the book in the blogosphere. Maybe I should check the series out.
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday, do hope the meal out is delicious. Nice to catch up with family you don't see all that often.
ReplyDeleteHappy birthday again! π
ReplyDeleteFlock of Seagulls always makes me think of the beach, not because of seagulls, though, ha ha ha ha, that just dawned on me. π
I liked Temors, ha ha. I think there was a sequel I never saw. π
The Sea Train image reminds me of a scene in the anime movie Spirited Away. I love that movie. π
Have a wonderful week. ☺
Dinner out and quiet time for books is a great way to spend a birthday. You've posted up some fun stuff last week.
ReplyDeleteNeat lost Star Wars clip and art.
Have a great week, Greg!
Happy Belated Birthday, and I know that hanging out with family and eating had to be the best time ever! Like you, Tremors was NOT my friend.(lol) Happy Monday and Hugs...RO
ReplyDeleteHope you had a great birthday! :-)

ReplyDeleteHappy birthday! Hope you have a wonderful one! It does sound like you've had a good reading week! My reading has been depressingly flat but I'm hoping to fix that. Have a great week!

ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday! I hope you had a good meal. lol, I recently watched Tremors and had forgotten how truly terrible it was! I hope you enjoy it ;)
ReplyDeleteHappy Belated Birthday! Hope it was a good one anyway :D I'm glad March is over here it was kind of yucky. Hoping rain will be less, yucky but so far not a good start.
ReplyDeleteHappy Belated Birthday! I hope you had a truly fantastic day. :) I can't believe March is over--it was so long, yet so short? I'm really looking forward to your thoughts on Annihilation, I can't decide if I want to pick it up or not myself.
ReplyDeleteHappy birthday. Come see what I'm reading
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday Greg! I hope you had a great celebration with your family and found time to read. I love your post title, Movies that Suck. I can think of a couple movies to add to your list lol. I hope you have a great week!
ReplyDeleteHappy belated birthday Greg! Hope you had a great day.
ReplyDeleteHappy birthday, Greg - although I am a tad bit late! You read quite a lot this week.
ReplyDeleteAs always, but especially this week, I love the pulp cover of the week! All those details and the color red!
Looking forward to your Annihilation review - curious if you saw the movie too and how do they compare!
Happy Belated Birthday!
ReplyDeleteI really want to read The French Girl. It sounds so good!!
Tremors this week? I am pretty sure my husband has seen that a million times - it seemed like for a while every time I turned around it was on and he was watching it. Lol. Looking forward to that post!
I missed your birthday? Happy belated birthday. I hope you enjoyed the day even if you had no grand plans. I quite like relaxing on my birthday. That's just me, though. Look at all the reading! And Obsidio! I really need to start that book, I'm excited and nervous to read it I think. Hope you have a good week.
ReplyDeleteHappy belated birthday! And once again I'm so behind on everything that I'm just trying to hit a few posts on each blog. Hopefully I'll be back to being a little more on top of things soon but March was intense!
ReplyDeleteI love that Sea Silk pic!!! Wow.
I'm about to check out the Tremors post. Looking forward to it. :D
