This week is Top Ten Books I really liked but can't remember much. Wow that's a mouthful. This one was tough and I decided to tweak it a bit- so here are the books I might re- read either because some of the details are fuzzy, or I just want to revisit.. So here's my take.
I may have to revisit Catching Fire at some point because I love the second Hunger Games in this one- plus Kat and Finnick as allies? Yes please.
I remember LOVING the twist.
I remember most of this, and while it's not a perfect book I liked the idea of the various dares. I should re- read this actually.
This is another one I might re- read.
Same.
Another one I wouldn't mind revisiting just to refresh the details.
These are always worth a revisit.
This one sticks in my mind so I must have liked it :)
There's a chilling story here amongst all the pastoral scenery.
One of my favorite books for the humor, in spite of the serious undercurrent.
I've re- read this a few times and frankly there's so much going on in it.
I can see reading this one again
Katniss and Finnick working together was like the best thing! I feel like all books get fuzzy eventually, so it's nice to revisit the great ones!

DeleteOnce Martin has published the entire GOT series, I will definitely have to start from scratch! I read Big Little Lies last year and loved it. It's still very much present. Don't know the other books on your list!

Some new to me ones here! I still need to read Sanctuary Bay! I read a series by this duo once before and loved it and I was sooo excited for this one. Yet I still need to read it!

DeleteGreat twist on this week's topic. There are lots of books I'd love to revisit for the same reason. If I ever make it all the way through the George R.R. Martin books, I'd love to go back and re-read the first couple of books. When I read your posts about them, I often realize how many details have already escaped my brain about those.

DeleteI've re-read Catching Fire a time or two, so it's stayed with me a little bit... but Panic hasn't! I know I liked it too... I do remember 800 Grapes, family drama at a winery, but only because I read it for a blog tour and got to meet the author at a BookExpo event.

DeleteI bet it's possible to read the George R.R. Martin books several times and always discover new details - they're both so dense. I still need to pick up Big Little Lies but hey, at least I finally bought a copy!

DeleteI want to reread Big Little Lies, too. I read it years ago and can't remember anything about it. It's weird when people rave about the TV show and I don't even remember the basic plot!

DeleteIt's funny how we all have books like this, that we know we loved and can vaguely remember loving but that is about it LOL! I probably have more than I care to admit. ;)

DeleteIt’s been so long since I’ve reread The Hunger Games trilogy. I should do that this year. Because Katniss + Finnick = total squad goals. :) And I still haven’t picked up The Girls in the Garden. I definitely want to get to that one soon.
ReplyDeleteYes I loved Kat and finnick. Saw the movie first, which is unusual for me, and loved it there and then when I read the books I loved it there too!!

DeleteIt's been a long time since I read The Hunger Games and would love to look at it again before the film binge! If I have a good reading year I might let myself read it next year!

Ha ha did you? And yeah I liked the idea of the game maybe a bit more than the execution of the story. And I can see re- reading THG at some point, I just read 'em for the first time and loved 'em!

DeleteOh my gosh, how do you have time to re-read?! :) I actually want to reread Agatha Christie - I read many of her novels long ago and I don't remember them at all. Here's my list this week of forgotten books.

DeleteOh, the Hunger Games is one of those series I could re-read indefinitely :) Especially Catching Fire. A lot of these I'm also hoping to read for the first time this year, such as Radio Silence and Big Little Lies.

ReplyDeleteYes! I LOVED Catching Fire. And Mockingjay is a little fuzzy for me (the movies anyway) but the book is actually pretty clear since I just read them.

You've got some good ones on your reread list. Several that I've not read yet, but I have reread Big Little Lies twice. And I need to reread the Hunger Games books.
ReplyDeleteI know for a fact that when I finished Radio Silence I thought it was one of the best books I've ever read, and I have put it on a few favourite books lists since then... But because I was so absorbed by it, I read it in a day and can't remember any details of the plot (or even the names of the characters!). I really should have featured it on my list, but I didn't even think of it!

There's a bunch of books here that are on my TBR. Eight Hundred Grapes looks good though I'm not shocked that it didn't stick. It sounds a bit on the fluffy side. Also not surprised by the Game of Thrones. It seems like there'd be so much stuff going on it'd be impossible to absorb it all.

ReplyDeleteI am definitely going to have to re-read A Dance with Dragons! It has been like 50 years since it came out lol. Seriously, I am going to have to re-read it when the new one (if ever) comes out.
ReplyDeleteBig Little Lies was so good! I love all Moriarty's books. I actually remember quite a bit about Panic, and I liked it very much as well. I feel like I may not be able to recall specifics, but I can remember what I liked or why I liked the book.
ReplyDeleteI've only read through ASoiAF once, and that is nowhere near enough to take in and absorb everything, LOL. I'd love to attempt a reread, and I'd probably have plenty of time before The Winds of Winter, at least at the current rate GRRM is writing it! :D
ReplyDeleteCool list! I find that I hardly reread because I tend to remember most details from books I love, while if the story is a little fuzzy then there's a good chance it wouldn't be worth reading again. Of course there are exceptions like Tintin because those are always fun to dig up. Mostly I wish I had more time because I'd probably be open to rereading a lot more things!

Oooh I love your take on this! I don't know if I could come up with 10 books to reread, but I assure you Catching Fire would be on my list too :) It IS fun to reread and see what you might have missed the first time around- or even just for the hell of it, sometimes it's just nice to read familiar stories!
ReplyDeleteCatching Fire is my favorite of the trilogy. I adore that book. If you want a recap, I'll give you one, lol. But, I totally understand that some books just don't stay with us even though we love them. :D
ReplyDeleteI read 800 Grapes not too long ago, so the details are still fresh(ish) in my mind. It wasn't a book I would typically gravitate towards, but I really enjoyed reading it! I could see how it would be a good book to re-read since it's more introspective and not super plot-focused.

I loved The Hunger Games and I can see myself re-reading the series, maybe I'll try it on audio. I still haven't read books from Lauren Oliver and Liane Moriarty so I'll try to get to them this year.

ReplyDeleteCatching Fire is the only THG book I haven't read. I read the first prior to seeing the film, didn't get 'Fire' read before its adaptation, but did read Mockingjay in anticipation of its film adaptation. Since I'm not the biggest fan of the series, I don't know that I'll read it... but never say never! :D
