Okay- question of the day.
I saw a question like this on a blog somewhere recently, wish I remembered where (if you remember please let me know, I'd like to give credit) but it was fun and I wanted to do a version of the werewolf vs vampire debate.
You are caught between a werewolf pack or a group of vampires. And these are not sparkly vamps but vicious. cold- blooded undead. But they do live a long time and they often have important roles in society due to their longevity and knowledge. The werewolf pack however offers a relatively normal life (when you're not howling at the moon) plus a support network, and while not as long- lived as vamps they heal quickly. Which group do you choose?
I haven't had a chance to watch more episode of Travelers, but I need to before I forget again what's going on. You're still liking Riverdale? I haven't quite felt like jumping into the 2nd season.

DeleteSpaceborn Few is hands down the most unusual title I've seen in a long time! Will have to check it out -- I'd go werewolf, I think. Vamps just haven't been doing it for me in a long time lol

DeleteOoo... I hadn't realised that Spaceborn Few was coming out! And I, too, love the idea of Jurassic Park meets Hunger Games. As to your question - it would have to be werewolf - not being able to look at my reflection in the mornings (even if I'm on the whiskery side) would be the last straw AND I like the idea of being around with my loyal pack...

DeleteI think I would choose werewolf in this situation! Who knows when those vicious vampires would turn on me? Also, I would like a support network after becoming a paranormal creature! :D

I love Riverdale! I mean it's campy and silly but that's half the fun. And yes werewolves!!
DeleteIn my early PNR days, I would have said vampires but the more I read - immortality just sounds sad and lonely so werewolves.
ReplyDeleteIt has cool perks but is relatively normal. I just have to hope the shift doesn't hurt too much.
For What It's Worth
You know vampires might not be bad if you were still human and just, you know, needed a little blood now and again. But the whole undead thing... nah. And I've never understood the shifting is painful thing- it seems like it might just be a transformation without pain, but maybe not...

ReplyDeleteI'd have to go with werewolves, of course :) I'd don't think I'd mind living with a bunch of furry beasts. Vamps lose too many people along the way. It'd get depressing after a few decades.

ReplyDeleteAs for your question, I've always enjoyed vampires stories, but when you put it like that . . . I'm gonna opt to join the werewolves pack, after all I'm extremely loyal and they would see that like a very good quality ;)
I know right? And I'm with you on the werewolves- I'd like being part of a pack maybe, and vamps are too cold and inhuman lol.
DeleteI've been getting into Riverdale lately and I'm totally loving it, it's such a fun show to kick back and relax with. Travellers looks really interesting, as does The Extinction Trials! To answer your question, I think I would go with the werewolves. It sounds much more up my alley.

ReplyDeleteAnd vampire, no question. I'd get to live forever, and like, don't their lives always seem kind of soap opera-y? Like they are always up to something. And my new high society status is a plus. Werewolves are probably covered in animal fur half the time, and now one is going to take some dog seriously. PLUS- I have a lot of questions about shifter hygiene in general. Vampire, all the way :D
Now listen. :) I am SORTA watching them, I mean Riverdale is ongoing right?? And Travelers- well I may have been too lazy to remove it, but you know I just finished S2. :) And Extinction Trials had me at the map- it's like got dinosaurs listed on it, you know? I had to. Plus it reminds me of The 100 a bit- just add dinosaurs? But I've only started it...

DeleteUgh, I've been seeing those Becky Chambers books around a lot which probably means they are GOOD! I am so vary of adult sci-fic though because it tends to be more literary and I enjoy more commercial reads on a regular basis.

I'd go vampire as I'm a solitary kind of person who wants to live forever so I can read all the books! I don't like the idea of drinking blood though but I suppose if I WAS a vampire I'd like it! Turning wolf every full moon sounds painful and I don't fancy fighting for pack position!
ReplyDeleteI know how much you love the Becky Chambers books so I hope this one lives up to your expectations. I LOVE Pat Benatar, especially her 80's stuff. It would be a tough decision between werewolf and vampire but I think I'd have to go with werewolf. I love my dogs and that's the closest I could come to being with them :)

Ooooo, how are you liking Travelers? I've had my eye on it for a while now. And to answer your question I would pick neither. Elven warriors are where it's at. ;)

ReplyDeleteHm. Part of me thinks being a Werewolf in that situation would be better, but I'm honestly preferable to the Vampire way of life. I mean. The darkness of night (good), no sun (good for my skin), forever young (good?), time to read all the things (also good) :P
Travelers is awesome. I like S2 a smidgen better than the first, but they're both good!
DeleteForever young is pretty tempting. :) And reading all the books/ immortality...I would miss the sun though? I think I'm werewolf but they both have advantages!

ReplyDeleteI just noticed the second season of The Travelers is out. I will have to find time to watch it. I enjoyed the first season. I haven't yet read Chamber's first book! I had better get on it.
ReplyDeleteI am not sure . . .Vampire or Werewolf. I tend to lean toward werewolf. I do love animals and I like the idea of living in a close community . . . I think immortality sounds nice from a distance, but actually faced with it, but might too much.
