It's October and that means it's time for the Frightfall readathon 2017. This is one of my favorite readathons because it's low maintenance and lots of fun. Plus scary books! And it's super easy to participate- the only real rule is you have to read at least ONE scary book- that's it! Of course you can read as many as you want- the sky's the limit- but non scary books also count. How cool is that?
You can find the details and the sign up page right here. #FrightFall
So... my goal for this readathon is- I have no goal! I don't read a ton of horror but I love thrillers and a good scary mystery, so here's a look at some of the reads I hope to get to. We'll see on Halloween how I did!
Welcome, Greg! Glad to have you joining us again. You have a great lineup there. Happy reading!
ReplyDeleteOh, and thanks for stopping by Cat Thursday. =^o^=
Thanks Michelle! for hosting
DeleteI occasionally read horrors and I think this is the perfect time for some, hehe Thrillers and/or mystery books will also do the job. The ones you listed sound all pretty interesting, I certainly hope you have a terrific time with them *mwahahaha* ;)
ReplyDeleteThis is the perfect time! I love a good thriller. And thanks *cackles evilly*
DeleteThis sounds like fun, Greg! I have to admit that I used to take advantage of AMC's scary movie thing years ago, but those days are long gone. Despite there being such great books and movies that scare most of us like crazy this time of year, I'll have to be the outsider that peeks in on occasion. Hope your Friday is fantastic!
ReplyDeleteI haven't watched AMC in ages, but I do like a good suspenseful movie. And thanks- hope you have a great Friday too!
DeleteI just read the synopsis of Bad Girls with Perfect Faces, it sounds soooo good ! It made me want to immediately pick it up *.*
ReplyDeleteOh and Into the Drowning Deep made me realize you read a lot of stuff related to seas and oceans :o
I know? I just discovered it on someone's blog and was like, mine, lol.
DeleteAnd I think... you're right. :) I love a good story about the sea, and since that one's killer mermaids, I'll go with it.
I don't read much horror either but I posted my pile of spooky books on Monday and hope to at least get through a few of those this month.
ReplyDeleteA friend just sent me Bad Girls with Perfect Faces and said it was a pretty wild read.
For What It's Worth
Ooh good I hope so. :)
DeleteAre you doing the readathon too? Or just reading spooky in general? I'll have to check out the list...
I'm looking forward to hear what you think of The Blackbird Season and Into the Drowning Deep. I loved Grant's Feed (zombie) series! I would love it if Ezekiel Boone's last book of The Hatching series was out during this season, because it would be a perfect read right now. Good luck on your readathon! :)
ReplyDeleteI loved The Blackbird Season! Probably one of my favorites of the year. My review will be up soon, but it was awesome. Into the Drowning Deep I am really looking forward to, just love that premise! I don't know if I could read The Hatching though ... :)
DeleteThis looks like so much fun. I hope you love all your reads!
ReplyDeleteLooks like a great selection of books. The cover of that last one is disturbing.
ReplyDeleteIt is a bit, isn't it??
DeleteI'm so excited for There's Someone Inside Your House. I'm still used to Stephanie Perkins' romance novels, but I'm excited that she's written something new and different. I hope you enjoy your books! :)
ReplyDeleteThanks. I finished Someone a few days ago. Are you going to read it?
DeleteThis does sound like fun, Greg! Your choices look perfect for the readathon. Enjoy!
ReplyDeleteThanks!!
DeleteThese all look really good! I'm not doing a read-a-thon but I do plan to read Stephen King's latest book this month.
ReplyDeleteOoh that sounds good.
DeleteThat does seem like a nice low-key readathon! I hope you enjoy your scary books :-)
ReplyDeleteI will. :) Can't wait for Drowning deep, cause... well, you know. lol
DeleteI just finished my holidays review books so I am ready to tackle all my spooky reads and I kind of went overboard and ordered a lot. Good luck :D all look good!!
ReplyDeleteThe more the merrier??!?
DeleteOooh this sounds like fun! I like that it is so calm, too- no pressure. I do want to read one or two, too. Idk which ones though. Hope that you enjoy the ones you read!
ReplyDeleteIt's very laid back. Whcih I like.
DeleteI'm looking forward to checking out Into the Deep as well. Unfortunately, I just finished The Blackbird Season and I didn't find it nearly as suspenseful or mysterious as the blurb made it sound, but I hope you will have better luck with it! :)

I know! Although Drowning Deep might qualify- not sure?
ReplyDeleteThis sounds fun, Greg! Enjoy! I look forward to your thoughts on There's Someone inside Your House -- that's on my TBR pile. Have a great weekend :)
ReplyDeleteI am dying to find out what you think of There's Someone inside your House. I want to get it but I didn't hear good things and I am worried. I trust your opinion so I would like to see what you think of it.
ReplyDeleteI never heard of this read-a-thon, I might need to check it out for next year! Good Luck!
I want to read some of these too, Greg. Great choices! I'm doing 31 Days Of Thrills And Chills, reviewing horror and thrillers all month long, so I skipped out on this challenge.
ReplyDeleteI always say I'm going to read more scary books in October, but then never seem to get to it. We'll see if get around to it! Great picks! Can't wait to hear what you think of the Perkins book.
ReplyDeleteI really really want to read There is Someone in your house! I requested it at the library but I am 4th on the list so I don't think i will get it in time for Halloween.
ReplyDeleteI like the sound of Bad Girls with Perfect Faces! Good luck with the readathon!
