Cover Characteristics The Fae

Cover Characteristics is a meme by Sugar and Snark- every week a characteristic is selected and we post 5 books with that week's theme.

This week's pick- The Fae

The rogue topics continue as Cover Characteristics is officially on hiatus. This week- with October here I decided it was time to revisit the fae again.

Bad Ass Faeries 2: Just Plain Bad

I kinda like these covers, they're fun.

Bad-Ass Faeries: It's Elemental

This one is nice with the blue and green wings.

A Creature of Moonlight

I like this one a lot with the faerie type dragon against the moon.

This magazine often has nice covers.

Another fae oriented mag.

One of my favorites- I like the night setting with the fae lights.

Another book with a nice fae sense.

A nixie is an interesting type of fae and this one caught my eye.

I'm fond of this one too, another favorite.

  1. Ooh nice covers! I actually like them all. The first two are nice, and I love that the series is called Bad Ass Faeries lol. The first Spiderwick Chronicles cover just looks so magical, and the others have nice artwork too. I think A Creature of Moonlight is my favorite though. The font, the whole nighttime thing, I can't help but love it!

    1. I know, Bad Ass Faeries- is that great or what? I love that first Spiderwick cover it's all mysterious with the nighttime and the lights. Probably my favorite or a toss up between that and A Creature of Moonlight. I like the idea of faerie dragons and of course moonlight. :)

  2. I think my favorite cover of the bunch is the first Spiderwick Chronicles cover. I'm digging the whole night scene with those lights. My second favorite is Tithe by Holly Black. That's another good one.

    Great choices, Greg!

  6. So beautiful! Especially the Spiderwick Chronicles covers. I am quite partial to the one with the unicorn, though looking back I really like the one you pointed out with the fairy lights too. I missed it on my first pass because of the more subdued colors, but it's got incredible atmosphere.

    1. It's easy to miss I think, and there are a lot of different covers, but it jumped out at me with the lights and the night setting. I like the unicorn one too, and the thought of unicorn and faeries interacting is a fun one.
