Cover Characteristics Bookstores

Cover Characteristics is a meme by Sugar and Snark- every week a characteristic is selected and we post 5 books with that week's theme.

This week's pick- Libraries/ Bookstores

Going rogue again- this week I am taking a look at books with libraries or bookstores on the cover.

Mr. Penumbra's 24-Hour Bookstore (Mr. Penumbra's 24-Hour Bookstore, #1)The Moment of EverythingMurder in the Paperback Parlor (Book Retreat Mysteries, #2)The Yellow-Lighted Bookshop: A Memoir, a HistoryThe Little Paris BookshopDash & Lily's Book of Dares (Dash & Lily, #1)Goodnight JuneWeird Things Customers Say in BookshopsMore Weird Things Customers Say in BookshopsOn Borrowed Time (Library Lover's Mystery #5)

Okay some of these may be a stretch- some just refer to bookstores or just have books but these things aren't an exact science. Anyway I'm surprised I didn't think of this topic sooner- seems like a natural. So, which is your favorite?

Mr. Penumbra's 24-Hour Bookstore (Mr. Penumbra's 24-Hour Bookstore, #1)
I like this cover and the book wasn't bad.

The Moment of Everything

This book wasn't really for me but it wasn't bad, just not my thing. Love the cover though. The cat didn't show up nearly enough in the story, as I recall.

Murder in the Paperback Parlor (Book Retreat Mysteries, #2)

A nice series about a resort that caters to book lovers, and has SEVERAL libraries. Yes you heard that right. We all want to go.

The Yellow-Lighted Bookshop: A Memoir, a History

I don't have any idea about this one but book on a dock with a lantern... I don't know, I like.

The Little Paris Bookshop

No bookstore in sight but I know this takes place on a book barge, actually- and several bloggers have sung its praises.

Dash & Lily's Book of Dares (Dash & Lily, #1)

This reminds me of a movie plot, having to find clues hidden in books- or notes/ love letters I think it is. I just love the snowy NYC feel.

Goodnight June

Okay this one might be iffy but I know it involves a Seattle bookstore and I've been wanting to read it.

Weird Things Customers Say in Bookshops

I saw a humorous review for this one somewhere and so it came to mind.

More Weird Things Customers Say in Bookshops

This one is kinda funny.

On Borrowed Time (Library Lover's Mystery #5)

And... some cozy action. This authors covers always catch my eye, in this case it's the books and a fireplace

  1. I think Mr. Penumbra's is my favorite. It's simple but striking. I also like the murder one. It seems like putting cats and dogs on the cover of murder mysteries and cozies is a thing, but they always make the covers cuter lol. And yes, I do want to go to that resort! There should totally be, like, book-themed resorts.

    1. I like that cover. It works w/ the yellow even though it's not actually showing much. And yeah cozies and animals seem to go hand in hand lol. That cover is pretty inviting...

  2. I didn't realize those were books on the Penumbra cover. Ha ha. I am so observant. I want to read those bookstore quotes books. There was a Tumblr account by a bookstore employee that used to post things customers said and asked for, but they stopped posting. It made me sad. :P

    1. It's a great cover and I had high hopes but it was a bit disappointing. And the cat wasn't in the book nearly enough! It wasn't bad though...

  8. I've not read "Dash and Lily," but do think the cover is adorable. Every time I see it I think it must hold a charming story to have such a lovely cover. :)

    Thanks for visiting Finding Wonderland.
