Sunday Post #105
The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimba the Caffeinated Book Reviewer
This was a good week, I got some reading in but not as much as I would have liked. I reviewed The Blue and a Daenerys chapter for my A Dance with Dragons re- read. And I watched some Netflix too- still working on The 100.
This week was week two of my A Dance with Dragons re- read. I'll be reading and reviewing a chapter a week. Whether you're a book fan, show fan or both, stop by and let me know what you think. I'm also still working on my Choosing Your Path interactive story- it's surprisingly complicated but fun to work on. I hope to roll it out soon.
In other news, I also won a copy of Eight Hundred Grapes and an EHG mug (love that) from Deb at Readerbuzz. Thank you Deb!
NEW ARRIVALS/ UPCOMING REVIEWS:
BLOGOSPHERE:
It Starts at Midnight, Bookshelf Reflections and The Thousand Lives are doing something awesome- Shattering Stigmas: A Mental Health in YA Event. Discussions and guest posts about mental health- I've seen some amazing posts so far. Two standouts here and here.
Love those book shop photos. I've seen Need around a lot and I think it looks great. Hope you enjoy your new books and have a great week.
ReplyDeleteThanks Trish, I liked that place found it on vacation and it's a neat store. You have a great week too!
DeleteThe photos you share are always gorgeous and your bookstore photos make me sad I don't have an interesting bookstore locally though I do have a good used bookstore that I really need to visit more. Well technically the last thing I need are more books but I'm sure you understand! Congrats on the giveaway win! That looks like a really great read and I love bookish mugs.
ReplyDeleteI love sued bookstores- whenever I find one it's like uh- oh, I'm going to lose some time in there! And I like mugs too- I sorta collect em and then they sit in the cupboard- but it's fun! It's funny I was strongly considering that book, so it was a good win. :)
DeleteI love your pics, especially the book club one, lol ! And those photo sites : gorgeous ! I'm also interested in your interactive story. Happy reading and have a great weekend ;)
ReplyDeleteI thought that was fun too! Thank for the interest, I hope it's fun when I finally get it done. :)
DeleteI can't wait for your interactive story! I am really looking forward to it.
ReplyDeleteThat water looks so crispy and cool, I want to jump in that picture!
I saw the commercial for Blindspot, I think my husband plans to check it out. It looks interesting.
Enjoy your new reads, Greg! Have a great week!
I'm looking forward to it too, it's taking me a while to get it out but one of these days... I've sen a few around but everyone does them different, on Twitter and different places.
DeleteHave a super week!!
I'm big fan of GoT so I'm off to check the Epic History of house Baratheon :) :)
ReplyDeleteShe goes pretty in depth with those histories, hope you enjoy it. Her shows a re a bit goofy at times but they're not bad...
DeleteThat bookstore is super cute! I wish my store front looked like that, mine is just brick...and boring....and near a tavern. *sighs*
ReplyDeleteI wish I could skip A Feast of Crows and go right to Dragons...well I don't really want to skip it, I just want a Dany chapter. Those were the ones I looked forward to the most.
It is a nice store... although it's a few hours north of me! I go there on vacation.. in case you didn't know, Sara at the Hidin Spot works there and has a nice book blog.
DeleteI am not super fond of Feast... all my fave characters aren't in it! Dragons is much better, even if the plot expands rather than moves along- there are some nice moments.
Congrats on your win of Eight Hundred Grapes...and that mug was awesome.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your week, and thanks for visiting my blog.
Did you buy that awesome wine glass? I love it, so hysterical!! And those hand-painted glasses are not cheap, either! Thanks for sharing beautiful MI!!!
ReplyDeleteCool, eclectic collection of books this week!!! Enjoy the cooler weather!!
Congrats on win of Eight Hundred Grapes. I can imagine that a pick your own path would be quite tricky to execute. All the best with it.
ReplyDeleteI do love your phoots. Congrats on the win and have a great week :)
ReplyDeletePhotos are so pretty and I love the bookshop ones! I wanted Need but didn't get approved, oh well it's not like I don't have enough to review and read...lol. Hope you like it!

That glass is pretty amazing!
ReplyDeleteTinTin! My husband really likes him. :)
The game was fun. I only didn't like that each step opened in a new tab.
ReplyDeleteNice pictures once more, Greg! I love the colors of the lake, so beautiful. And I snorted at the book-club picture :)
ReplyDeleteI got Need last week, and really look forward to reading it! I hope we'll both enjoy it.
Have a fantastic week ahead and happy reading :)

I love the idea of a chapter-by-chapter readthrough of a book as complex as A Dance with Dragons! I'll definitely drop by soon :) Also, that sandwich looks illegally good! Matched is also a book that's been on my list for some time. Your post is always so fun with so much to see :D Thanks for sharing :) I hope you have a great upcoming week!

I love Tin Tin! I hope you like the Matched books better than I did. My sister loved them and kept telling me to, "Read the next one, it gets better." In my opinion, she lied to me. Lol. I am going to give the link to your Sunday Post to one of my FB friends who lives in Michigan. She is always posting Michigan photos, too. I think she will like your Sunday Post posts. Have a wonderful week. :)
ReplyDeleteReally nice pictures! I like that book club wine glass :)
ReplyDeleteI liked Matched but the other books in the trilogy weren't as good in my opinion. I haven't read any of the others on your list. Tin Tin is incredibly popular at my library especially with the Amish kids.
That wine glass is great! It almost makes me want to join a book club, lol.
ReplyDeleteYour used bookstore photos and stories are always fun. You have a lot more used bookstores near you than I do, I'm envious.
Congrats on your win! Enjoy :)
I know, me too! :) I got a kick out of it when I saw it in the store.
DeleteWe do have some nice bookstores, although a lot of the ones I show are up north, a few hours away- so they're like summertime destinations. :)
I love that wineglass! How fun! It looks like you have lots of great reading ahead of you with those new books. I've been wanting to try Matched myself as so many other readers seemed to have enjoyed this series. Have a great week!
ReplyDeleteI do too, it cracked me up! I'm looking forward to Matched... I really like the cover, and it sounds intriguing.
DeleteThanks for stopping by my blog :) I enjoyed the first episode/pilot for Blindspot, I hope the rest of the series is as good.
ReplyDeleteI've seen Need pop up on a few blogs so I'll check out what that's about - the cover and title are definitely intriguing.

That sandwich looks delicious, but those pickles look even better! I'm interested to hear your thoughts on Eight Hundred Grapes!
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by the The Local Muse
Love that glass and that sandwich, you never get sandwiches like that in the UK!
ReplyDeleteI pre-ordered Press Start to Play this week, I'm looking forward to it, it has a good buzz around it.
I read Matched a couple of years back and it was good, hope you enjoy it.
Press Start to Play Tumblr game was too cute for words! Thanks for posting!
ReplyDeleteI love this weeks photos and I have to get that glass (even though I'm not part of a book club!). I'm curious as to how you will like Matched so I can't wait to see your review. The sandwich looks yummy and is making me hungry! Have a great week Greg!
ReplyDeleteOh, Blindspot looks interesting!!!
ReplyDeleteAnd I like the look of that sandwich! It's Monday lunchtime here and I haven't got any exciting food in the apartment!
The water looks inviting!
ReplyDeleteHave a great reading week

Eight Hundred Grapes sounds really good! I will have to check back for your review.
ReplyDeleteThose photography sites are beautiful!
I am lucky enough to have a Grand Traverse Pie Co just a few miles away! I'm reading a series that deals with YA OCD. I will check out the posts about mental health issues. I am looking forward to Blindspot. Congrats on your win.
ReplyDeleteYour avatar just made me think of Armada by Ernest Cline, especially since I just scheduled my review. Have you read it yet? Enjoy your week!
