The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimba the Caffeinated Book Reviewer. This has been a good reading week. Last week I reviewed the Avengers movie, as well as Ex Machina. They were both good.
I was just looking at your Sunday Post for last week and thinking that Death of a Dishonorable Gentleman looked good. So I'm glad to hear that you enjoyed it. Nerd looks great too! I read the first book in The Testing by the same author and really enjoyed it. Which reminds me I must crack on with that series! Thanks for linking my post too :)
You are welcome! Need does look good, and it's new to me so I'm looking forward t oit. And Dishonorable was a good read- I liked it a lot. A great debut.
I have Death of a Dishonorable Gentleman on my TBR so I'm glad to hear you enjoyed it. I'm also wanting to try Tasha Alexander and Kate Parker. I've heard great things about both of those series. Have a great week!
I did like it a lot- was sorry to see it end. I've enjoyed several of Tasha Alexander's books, and Kate PArker is a new favorite of mine given the first two Victorian bookshop mysteries. I have high hopes for the new one- it's out in July I think.
I had a lot of thoughts on Avengers, good and bad. LOL. It was fun to see though, and to see what other people thought of it. I hope you like it if you see it- it is a big movie. Lots happening.
I'm looking forward to the Royal Assassin a lot- one of my more anticipated reads this summer. It's a fun series.
Every time I see "the Avengers", I think of John Steed, not "your" avengers, difference of culture ! Royal assassin looks good, victorian bookshop mystery and gorgeous garden. Enjoy and have a great week ;)
The books are pretty good, I like the first one the best. Such a sense of wonder. I don't think I saw the show, but the artwork in the books is amazing.
The cover for 'The Adventuress' is great, makes me want to travel again! I saw 'The Avenger's the other day but still haven't gotten time to watch 'Ex Machina', it's definitely on the lost though! I hope your next week is even better :) My Sunday Post Juli @ Universe in Words
I like that cover too, it really jumped out at me. I haven't always loved the covers of her books, some are better than others, but that one I like. Did you like Avengers?
I am still marching through my backlog of eARCs; titles I let sit past the publishing date, from Edelweiss and Netgalley. I am all caught up on EW and I only have three or four left on NG. I have even caught up with some ebooks I purchased that have been sitting around on my Kindle (but there are 48 of those, lol). I am looking forward to your Dinotopia review. My son adored that series. Have a wonderful week. :D
Well you're making progress. You need to join COYER to clean that ereader out LOL. It's a fun event, do you do it?
I'm excited to post my Dinotopia thoughts, I liked it a lot and it has some amazing artwork. A very nice book, good for kids but also adult with a vivid imagination. :)
Great new books. Need looks intriguing and Royal Assassin is on my wish list. I love it when a book makes me want to stay in it's world. That's why I do enjoy a series, but those cliff hangers can be wicked. LOL My Sunday Post - http://fuonlyknew.com/2015/05/17/whats-new-on-my-bookshelf-109-and-the-sunday-post/
I also liked the Avengers movie. There was a lot of action and I can't wait to see what they do next with this franchise.
The Adventuress looks really good. I need to add more mystery in my reading. I'm getting burned out with reading the same thing. I look forward to your review.
Those movies are fun, aren't they? I've been reading mysteries lately, and enjoying them. A couple years ago I never read mysteries, so my reading tastes have changed. But I read YA too, so I change it up. :) I know what you mean about needing variety!
Just checked out Need on Goodreads, sounds like my type of read, hope you enjoy it Greg. Tasha Alexander's novels always have gorgeous covers, especially this one ... I have a thing for the Eiffel Tower on covers lol. Have a great week and happy reading :)
I think Need will be good too, looking forward to that one. And I agree about Alexander's books- this cover in particular I like. I like the Eifel Tower too and when her books go to PAris it's fun.
I had Death of a Dishonorable Gentleman checked out from the library for a few months and never got around to reading it. I'm glad to find out that it was good. I'll have to check it out again later when I can dedicate more time to reading library books.
Need is one I'll have to check out as I enjoyed The Testing series by the author. Thanks for visiting my post earlier and I hope you have a great week!
I need to find a cozy mystery series that centers around books, they looks o cute! We have a few at the store here, but most of them are like book 4 or 5 and I don't like reading things out of order if I can help it. I'm pretty curious to see what Need is going to be like, I really enjoyed the authors Testing books. Well the first two, I still need to read the last one.
I might try The Testing, I've kinda drawn a blank on YA's lately, not sure what to read next. Schol for Unusual Girls maybe, but after thatnot sure. I like mysteries set in older times generally, but Storm reviewed Murder in the Mystery Suite last week- it's first ina serie and is moder times. Centered around a book resor, I'm going to try it.
I like them a lot, they've become a favorite series of mine. The relationship between the duke and the bookseller is fun- they can't be together because of class differences, but they are attracted to each other- and the characters are fun.
