Sunday Post #84
The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimba the Caffeinated Book Reviewer.
It's Monday! What Are You Reading is hosted by Sheila at Book Journey.
This has been a very quiet week on the blog, no posts- just too much going on. I've started watching Mako Mermaids it's set in Australia. Wherever they are filming it is a nice area.
This week I'll have reviews of The Mystery Off Glen Road and another Hardy Boys post as well. I'm on a roll with these of late and have several more in the pipeline as well. In fact, I'll have to read something NON Hardy Boys related soon or this will turn into a retro blog. Also just a heads up- Rathe Be Reading YA will also be reviewing The Mystery off Glen road this week, so check out her thoughts as part of her Retro Reads

I love finding a show to watch with the kids. I haven't heard of that one but it sounds fun and I always enjoy beautiful scenery. Have a great week!
ReplyDeleteIt's a fun show, I recommend it- good for teens but clean, and I like that it's set in Australia too.
DeleteIt's nice to have a quiet week every so often. In this case, it sounds like the perfect way to transition between months. Enjoy the coming week.
ReplyDeleteMy recap: http://www.bookclublibrarian.com/2015/03/weekly-book-recap-100.html
I loved Trixie Belden. I have nearly a complete set of the books. I'm missing number 38. I've seen it go for over $70 on eBay! I will confess that I didn't read all the Trixie books. They kept going in and out of print and I outgrew them.

Second Run Reviews
I was thinking about trying a quiet week...hmm, wonder if I can make that happen? LOL
ReplyDeleteWatching the show with the girls sounds like fun. Enjoy your new week, and thanks for visiting my blog.
My daughter LOVES that show! I just noticed on Netflix they had the second season and she has already watched it twice :)
ReplyDeleteI seriously can't get enough of those covers someone need to make a poster with them all, that would be so cool!
Have a great week, Greg! Happy Reading!
I hadn't heard of Mako Mermaids before. It's so good to find a program you and your kids can watch together. It's great you're enjoying The Hardy Boys books. Have a great week, Greg!
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing the video of Mako Mermaids. I hadn't heard of the show and was curious as I read your post. My girls would have been all over that as teens. Stay warm and enjoy the week ahead
ReplyDeleteI'm working on my Trixie Belden post right now. Man, my book is falling apart. I need a new copy.
ReplyDeleteAh, I used to watch Mako Mermaids with a girl I babysat for in her tweens. She loved it! I have to admit it wasn't too bad lol Hopefully this week is less hectic for you and you have more opportunity to update the blog :) I know I miss mine when I'm busy!

Week in Review
I haven't watched that show but I do know it's filmed on The Gold Coast in Queensland, Australia. A beautiful part of the world and somewhere I've had several great holidays. Well worth a visit if you get the chance. Thanks for sharing Greg, I hope you have a fantastic week.
ReplyDeleteJust enjoyed the small clip of Mako Mermaid - looks fun.Can vouch that if as Sharon says its on the Gold Coast then it is a great place to swim and have done so a couple of times. Would love to live there!
ReplyDeleteThat show looks pretty fun! I've been trying my hardest to stay a week ahead of my posts but sometimes quiet days on the blog are just inevitable. I hope you have a lovely week Greg
ReplyDeleteHow cool, Mako Mermaids is actually filmed on the Gold Coast, and one of the location spots is the Broadwater ... I've got photos on my blog today of my granddaughter on that beautiful area of the Broadwater :)
ReplyDeleteHappy reading!
I was just over looking at those... nice pics! And it looks like a beautiful area. I've heard so many good thing about the Gold Coast.
DeleteI've never heard of Mako Mermaids, I'll have to check it out.
ReplyDeleteI've been enjoying your Hardy Boys reviews and as for being a retro review blog, why not? There's no end of blogs that review newer books but blogs that review older books are hard to find. Why shouldn't older books be loved too?
It's a fun show, I have to admit I'm looking forward to more episodes and I like it quite a bit. LOL.
DeleteI need to catch up on your project. This is wonderfully nostalgic. :)
ReplyDeleteGlad to see you're enjoying Trixie and her family. Here's my post.

Ha! No kids so I'm not really aware of kids shows out there. I used to watch quite a few things with my niece (but she's now 18!).
ReplyDeleteLovely to see another Trixie Belden there!

That mermaid show looks like a lot of fun! And you're clearly having fun with the vintage MG/YA mysteries, too. One of these days, I should reread my Judy Bolton collection. :-)
ReplyDeleteHa ha, my sister is 42, but she will absolutely love the Mako Mermaids show! I cannot wait to show it to her. And gosh, I had forgotten all about Trixie Beldon. Memories. :)
