I hope everyone had a great week. This week I reviewed
Fangirl by Rainbow Rowell and
Slated by Teri Terry. I also decided I wanted to read some edgier fare for autumn so I'm open to suggestions- anyone have ideas for good autumn reads? Anything fantasy or mysterious is welcome.
Thanks for the link to the GoT article! Very interesting read and some of the comments were quite well thought out. Has me thinking now who will finally come out in the end. So can't wait for Season 4 to start!!!
ReplyDeleteI don't know how you feel about zombie books, but if you get the chance, maybe check out Zombie Fallout 1 by Mark Tufo for an autumn read. I read it for the first time last year in the fall and was so glad I did! It was so much more than just a zombie book and it had a lot of humor, which I wasn't expecting but worked perfectly. Just a thought. :)
Another more cozy mystery type book that I've really enjoyed is Nearly Departed in Deadwood by Ann Charles! Great mystery, spicy, with a very spunky main character! I've read the entire series and absolutely love it...Probably my favorite cozy mystery series! And there is supposed to be a new book in the series coming out in the next couple of months, I think...yay!
Hope these suggestions help!

I thought so too about the GoT article. I was almost afraid to post it due to spoilers, but some of the comments got me thinking about stuff I hadn't considered! Anyway thanks for the recommendations- I need 'em. I'm at a point where I have stuff I've bought or am thinking of reading but other than the Slated sequel nothing I'm super excited about, so maybe I need some new ideas. :)
DeleteI will definetly check both of those suggestions out. Thanks!
Looks like a good week...I'm off to check out your reviews. Enjoy the new week.

DeleteYou know a book was good when you jump right into the sequel. I'm glad it was available. Thanks for stopping by my blog. Enjoy this great Fall weather.
ReplyDeleteYes it was, thank you! I'm glad you came by!
DeleteGood books you have there. I was thinking about your request for recommendations. Not sure if you meant horror, suspense, mystery? I recommend Brilliance by Marcus Sakey for a cross between a UF and a thriller. A few bloggers have liked The Pines by Blake Crouch. I haven't read it yet but was thinking about it--more fantasy/horror I think, could be wrong. Will rack my brain for more :)
ReplyDeleteThanks Rita. I lean towards mysteries and fantasy lately, and this time of year I'm looking for more of the same. Thanks for the suggestions, I will check this out!
DeleteI love dystopia, and will be checking out Slated. I would recommend Prodigy and Legend as autumn reads. They are the first two books in a dystopia series. Have a great reading week.
ReplyDeleteThanks, I will check those out. I've looking for something... I don't know, autumnish. whatever that is! Those both sound good
DeleteI read Night Film for RIP. It's really creepy and atmospheric!
ReplyDeleteI hear great things about Fangirl. I recently read Eleanor and Park. Rowell is a great writer!
Yes she is! I really liked Fangirl. I'm still figuring out what I'm gonig to read for it but I'll come up w/ something.
