Sunday Post #11/ It's Monday! What Are You Reading?

  3

The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimba the Caffeinated Book Reviewer. It's a chance to share news. A post to recap the past week on your blog, showcase books and things we have received and share news about what is coming up on our blog for the week ahead

It's Monday! What Are You Reading is hosted by Sheila at Book Journey. It's a chance to share reading lists and compare notes. Be warned though- this meme tends to add to your reading lists.

The days of fall are here, the nights have been cooler and the leaves will be falling soon. I love this time of year. I'm looking forward to some autumn-y reads and am thinking about joining a read-a-thon or two for the season. Last week I reviewed And Only To Deceive by Tasha Alexander. This was my first book of hers and I liked it. This week I'm reading Fangirl and almost done. My review should be up in a couple of days.

Fangirl

Next up:

Slated (Slated, #1)

Around the blogosphere:

From Tor.com (lots going on there this week BTW)

Rainbow Rowell of Fangirl fame (and Eleanor & Park) on Life Before Fandom, and how life as a geek was different before the Internet. Ah, X- Men reference... it's worth a rea

  4. Thank you for the wonderful shout-out, Greg! And I see you have Magic Marks the Spot, too! I've dipped into it; it's delightful. Thanks for the Morning Roundup link - some of their links were terrific.

  5. I really enjoyed both Fangirl and Razor's Edge. I have also been wanting to read And Only to Deceive. I have heard the series compared to Deanna Raybourn's Lady Julia Grey mysteries which I love.

I can't wait to see Catching Fire this November. I've only read Mockingjay once but I think Julianne Moore will be a good Coin.

    1. I'm liking Fangirl a lot, and I think your blog was where I saw Razor's Edge- didn't know about it before that, so thank you! I really liked And Only To Deceive and will definetly be reading the rest of the series.

I haven't read Mockingjay but I generally like Moore.

  7. I wish I enjoyed Fangirl more, my review was a 3 star but I had a lot of issues getting to that point. I love the premise though.I'm sort of looking toward to Fall...but I don't want it to get below 60 ever, lol. I'm a summer girl. Razor's Edge looks awesome and I'm totally for a Loki movie (as long as it's well written and not just an excuse for money).

    1. I read your review and I can see where you're coming from. I'm liking it a little more I think but I see your point about some of the characters. And yes below 60 is not good- I want fall and then maybe summer again! LOL

Yeah I am a huge Starwars fan but I don't think I could ever bring myself to read the books.
I cannot wait till Emerald Green comes out!!!!! Have you read the series??? It's really great!

    1. Thanks Rashika. I felt a little weird buying a book called FanGIRL but I liked the premise. Who can't relate to someone struggling to grow up and keep their fannish ness? Is that a word? :) Anyway yeah I don't normally read the SW books either. And I have not read the series but the cover looked good.

    1. I think you'll like it when you do. I laugh a lot, Rowell just says a lot of things in it I can relate too, even though I'm a guy. :)
