To participate in Saturday Snapshot post a photo that you (or a friend or family member) have taken then leave a link to your post at Melinda's site. Photos can be old or new, and be any subject as long as they are clean and appropriate for all eyes. How much detail you give is in the captions is entirely up to you. Tip of the Old Mission Peninsula in Traverse City MI. Here the waves roll in from 3 directions and come together, and you are literally way out in the middle of Grand Traverse Bay, right on the 45th parallel (halfway between the equator and North Pole).
These are some pictures of our recent vacation in Traverse City MI. The Old Mission Peninsula extends about 22 miles into Grand Traverse Bay, and divides the bay into its eastern and western arms. The peninsula itself is beautiful, dotted with vineyards, wineries and stunning views. There is a lighthouse and park at the tip of the peninsula, but the water level is low and you can wade or hike way out to the very tip of the land.

I love beach photos, esp when we in Sydney are in the middle of winter....to be reminded of warm summer days is bliss :-)
ReplyDeleteBeautiful photos. Love how the water is so clear.

ReplyDeleteGorgeous shots! I can almost hear the waves lashing...and feel the coolness.
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing...and for visiting my blog.
How weird to have that happen in a lake, I thought it was ocean at first. It sounds an interesting spot.
