I can see the news for almost every state, including Alaska and Hawaii, and it's something else. This whole situation is very disheartening and sad, but I pray that things begin to change. On the upside, I'm always thrilled to hear about acts of kindness and support from around the world. If I ever was able to live in another company, I would choose Switzerland, which has been on my bucket list for years or Montreal Canada, which I visited years ago. Something about Montreal was very comfortable and interesting to me. I do think at times like these we can forget about all the good people are doing too, and although my social media is full of a lot of heavy things right now, it is nice to see the little pockets of positivity within those heavy things also - of course it does not excuse it, but I have seen some touching videos regarding the police at protests and such.

Regarding your UK article... I was born & raised in London, before moving to South Wales seven years ago now. Some observations from the link: it is true that we do love a queue, we are very lucky to have a reasonable number of holiday days a year, a chip butty is great, supermarket layouts confuse me also (they can vary from store to store, company to company), introversion is an interesting one as I think it depends on location (here, in my village, you say hello to everyone you meet practically, whether you know them or not, or at least smile, but in London - that was a no, no. I'm naturally very introverted, but I love that we all connect here in the village, even with just a simple smile), and lastly, thank goodness for the NHS!

Happy reading & a wonderful week to you.Reading with Jadehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00776146295033934487noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3952534890282357396.post-90019170298688734632020-06-08T14:17:45.178-07:002020-06-08T14:17:45.178-07:00The goings-on this past week have been insane... I need to witness, and learn and actively work to not be part of the problem, you know?

The link about life in the UK just made me smile. There are many problems with life in the UK but the healthcare, vacation days, ease of travel etc are some of the reasons I wouldn't want to live elsewhere. Example, my annual leave/vacation days are at 32.5 days a year... Sick pay etc are separate benefits. That said, Europe in general is pretty good for all of this too. :)
(Bit of background - I was born/raised in Scotland.
