Sunday Post #396

It was my birthday this week and I have Barnes and Noble money to spend. Also I revisited a story I wrote a couple years ago here.

have walking tours this week- the one right below is nice. There's also a river walk in Kyoto below and a walk through Akihabara.

So are cassettes back? I was looking at this new lo-fi and they have a limited cassette release???

I'm liking the idea of sharing a tweet occasionally to generate discussion. This tweet and the comments.

  1. Happy Birthday! I hope it was a good day for you.
I like Twitter and I think I spend most of my social media time there as opposed to other sites.

  6. Happy Birthday week! Have you figure out which books you want to buy with your Barnes & Noble money? I am already looking forward to you showing them here :-)

And thanks for sharing the Tokyo videos. Those are some lovely visuals, and someday I definitely want to visit Akihabara.

The "After the Jump" was a very cool picture too, not quite how I imagined the space jumps in scifi books, but perhaps that's exactly how I should have imagined them.

    1. And as for that Twitter video, yes, not at all what I expected. Those birds were scaring me, and then midway, the other dinner guest appeared, haha

    2. Thank you! And yes I bought two- I'll have to show case 'em next week. :)

The funny thing is as I watch these tours I'm starting to recognize places.

  7. Happy birthday, Greg!

I legit need more caffeine for when I started watching that video I thought dinosaurs were flying towards the boat and then I realised it isn't a freaky CGI thing and just birds, lol. I thought that was it then started cackling at the rest. It only left once it cleaned them out of fish! 🤣

    1. Honestly? Those pelicans looked like pterosaurs to me. I legit might not have been surprised if a sea dino had appeared!

  8. Happy Birthday Week, Greg!

That seal...sea lion?...is too cute! I would be beside myself with joy if he ever popped up on a boat I was on. I thought a shark was going to get one of the pelicans. Glad I was wrong.

  14. First of all, hope the birthday week was fantastic, and YEAH for B&N money. May you find many 5-star books. I was talking with my kid about cassettes not too long ago. That and 8-tracks should stay retired. I mean, we had some cute looking cassettes back in the day, but the format wears out. Why would I want to invest in that when I could get something that doesn't.

  17. Happy birthday!! What do you plan on spending your money on? That is so fun!! Also I LOVE that video, that is adorable! I was definitely waiting for the bird to eat that guy because birds are jerks but nope, wholesome fun! GORGEOUS art as always, these artists are incredible! Also I feel like cassettes don't actually need to be back? They were... limiting, at best?

  45. Happy belated birthday, Greg! Gift cards for bookstores are the best gifts :-) I hadn't heard cassettes were back. That would be funny if they were. I was reminiscing with my daughter the other day, naming my first record album and first CD, but for the life of me, I cannot remember what my first cassette tape was. I do remember recording songs from the TV onto cassette though. The memories . . .

Haha! That boating video was fun to watch. I didn't expect that. :-) I hope you have a great week, Greg!
