  3. All these Dune posts are just making me super happy!
Also, those covers. All I can think about are classic episodes of Doctor Who and 1950s sci-fi movies like The Mole People or Invasion of the Body Snatchers.

  11. The Jules Verne book -- That was probably the first sci-fi book I ever read. Don't think I liked it much then, haha.
I think you've chosen a great set of book covers because they very well match the most widespread themes in scifi till date (to the extent of my own knowledge anyways) -- time travel, extra-terrestrial monsters, apocalypse, new lands, spaceships/ space opera. What fun!

  12. I love retro sci-fi covers. They make me feel all nostalgic. I haven't read any of these, but I've seen Dune and 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea.

  20. Those are awesome covers! I remember seeing that same cover of Dune on my aunt's bookshelves. The McCaffrey cover resembles the covers of the Pern books that I read back in the day. And what is up with that Starship cover? That's not what I expected to see based on the title!
