This week is Top Ten Books I Bought/ Borrowed Because... reasons. I'm going with mostly stuff I bought for the cover.

The Shark Club

The cover did it for me but also the description.

Panic (Panic, #1)

The premise of this one was the draw for me.

Exile (The Extinction Trials #2)

The covers of these drew me in but the story and premise are way awesome too!

Vitro (Corpus, #2)

This is one of my fave covers.

A Map for Wrecked Girls

Great cover even if I didn't love the book

Bad Girls with Perfect Faces

Cover adoration

The Cats of Tanglewood Forest (Newford, #18)

The Blue

How many times have I used for Top Ten? Love the cover and the book.

The Girl from the Sea

  1. I think I read about "Panic" WAY back when, but wasn't interested enough to pick it up. Pretty sure I remember the same being true of 'Wrecked Girls,' but golly, the cover does make it seem interesting!! :)

  4. You know I love Bad Girls with Beautiful Faces!! And Panic is one of the only Lauren Oliver books I haven't read!! I gotta get on that!

  7. I read Panic, and liked it, but wasn't wowed. The Blue is really good, but I do love all her books. Vitro has an intriguing cover, going to look it up. Stay safe Greg.

  9. Lots of people seem to have done covers this week! The only one of these I've read is Panic, and I actually didn't like it that much, I hope you enjoy it more.

  10. I enjoyed Panic and Vitro. The Extinction Trials seems right up my street and I love the cover but I haven't read it yet. I often judge a book by it's cover and usually they turn out to be what I expect.

  12. Great list! I don't usually like covers with people on them, but I do like the cover of Panic.

  13. I've never really bought a book solely based on the cover, but The Blue pulls me in every time!

  14. I'm totally guilty of cover buys too. These are some good ones!

  15. The A Map for Wrecked Girls cover is stunning!

  16. I wish I wasn't such a cover whore but I really am! I still get suckered into reading stuff based on the cover alone LOL!

  17. You've got a little bit of an ocean theme going on in some of those covers. That always attracts me, too. :)

    ReplyDelete
  18. So is the water theme on purpose or do you just have a whole lotta books with water on the cover? :)

  19. I liked Panic a lot. I heard it was being adapted. Wonder if that's still happening.

  20. These are great covers and books I would also buy, based on the cover! I do it so very often and no shame! :)

  21. I'm a sucker for a great cover, too! The ones you lift are all striking, but I haven't read any of them yet. THE BLUE is one I'm looking forward to, though.

    Happy TTT!

  22. Those covers are all so pretty! I don’t blame you for getting them for their covers, I hope the books were as good as they look like they should be. I love The Shark Club cover, it really catches the eye. That might be slipped into my basket soon enough.

  23. That cover looks seriously Hitchcock-esque! I love all the others you shared. The Blue has been calling me since you first reviewed it. Love the beachy but not typical beachy look to it.

  24. I TOTALLY read Panic for the cover, too! I hadn't read any of her other books yet.

  25. Great list! I really need to check out Panic!

  29. I like the cover for A Night for Screaming -- especially that she's running with a gun. She's not to be messed with! I like the cover for The Girl From the Sea -- it's so dramatic!

  30. I definitely want to try A Map for Wrecked Girls - that cover looks awesome.

  31. You know the sad part here? Straight up HALF of these could be on a list of my own making called "books I bought because Greg said they were good". So your cover buys... became MY purchases haha. And sadly, the only one I have read is Panic! Well, and the first Extinction Trials book!

    ReplyDelete
  32. I have quite a few books I've bought because of cover love too. I love those water covers.

    ReplyDelete
  33. These covers are indeed stunning! I haven't even seen the first one before but now I'm intrigued!

    ReplyDelete
  34. I picked up Panic because of the premise as well! And I love the covers for The Extinction Trials, but I still need to read them...

  35. Some books just have the absolute best covers. I don't buy a book JUST because of the cover, but it definitely makes me stop and look at the summary if the cover is awesome.
