Let's see what happened this week. Well, winter tried to reassert itself, we got a little snow but we also had some sunshine. I just love a sunny day when the sun shines on the snow- those are the best. Other than that- we're already a week into February which seems weird. I feel like this winter is going by kinda fast? Which, not complaining.

I didn't read much this week. Didn't watch much either. What have I been doing?? I'm not sure! Like I said last week, I kinda just feel like hibernating. I did get a new game- Pandemic- which is really fun (rather than playing against each other, the players work together to prevent pandemics). Although with the Coronavirus thing happening I'm not sure now is the best time for this game!

  1. Love the maritime theme in some of your art choices - more please! And now I need to look up Pandemic - I agree, maybe a bit of an ironic choice of game in these times, but I'm curious!

  3. Interesting timing for the Pandemic game. Yikes. Great cover for Songs from the Deep. It's been a short winter here, too. And overall a very mild one. We're getting a blast of cooler temps this weekend but we also hit 80 degrees a couple times this past week.

  4. I have a game called Plague, where you create a virus and make it spread to see if the world can cure it. Fun game, I will say the world has got it's Sh*t together because it always cures my plague. Pandemic sounds fun. and by fun I mean in a....anyway.....

Hibernating is never a bad thing, it's like your body telling you, you need a break and to take it slow. I like to hibernate once in a while especially in the winter...like a bear.

Have a great week, Greg! Happy Reading! :)

    1. Fun! Pandemic can be kinda tough, we lose a lot. :)

Exactly. I'll just take Dec- March off if that's okay!

  5. I feel like the winter (and the start of the year) has gone by fast as well. Songs From the Deep sounds really good. I hope you enjoy it and have a great week.

  6. Winter is always an hibernation period for me too. It’s sometimes hard to get motivated

    ReplyDelete
  7. I know what you mean about hibernating, sometimes it's the best! Pandemic sounds fun, but yeah the whole Cornavirus situation might make it a bit too real 🙄.

    Have a great week Greg!

  8. You're living winter as it's meant to be lived LOL.

Azzur is awesome - and disquieting...

  10. It's snowing today in my area and little hibernation is my top priority. I like the premise of your new game. Vision of Seven Ravens seems interesting.

  12. I love the game Pandemic! Although we rarely seem to win it, even when we play it on the easiest level. I hope that's not a sign of things to come with the coronavirus! ;D

  14. The arrival of your game with an actual pandemic is uncanny. Ha, winter tried to reassert itself, not here. It's scared of NJ. It's been wet, but I am happy the precipitation has not been of the frozen variety. I have been seeing lots of good reviews for Good Girls Lie. I hope it's a hit for you

    ReplyDelete
  15. Ha! I know it's not funny with what's going on in the world but Pandemic sounds like my kind of game! :)

I'm bummed that winter is passing so fast. I mean, I don't like winter but I want to see some snow before spring arrives! It'll probably be another year where I'm lucky if I see the faintest dusting... Living in the south of England sucks sometimes. If I was back home, I'd have much more snow. :(

Hope you have a good week, Greg!

  16. I sometimes get addicted to games so I know how you must be feeling over Pandemic. LOL Have a great week!

  17. I was just thinking that before too much longer it would be looking like spring. I think every year seems to go just a little bit faster. Kind of scary to be playing Pandemic right now! I hope you have a great week!

  18. Great images! Good Girls Lie is on my list. Enjoy your week, and thanks for visiting my blog.

  19. It's been a mild winter at my house in Texas this year. We will be putting in our spring garden soon. And I will be returning to my outdoor swim class at the Y. I think those are my true signs of spring.

I'm always terrified of pandemics that emerge, especially this year as I'm off in Paris right now. Even though I'm less than taken with most politicians these days, I am sighing with relief that they do seem to be taking strong safety measures with the coronavirus.

I hope you have a wonderful week.

    ReplyDelete
  20. Hey that game sounds like it's preparing you for reality! Coronavirus is no joke, but seriously I think Influenza is more of a threat to us personally in the US. Still, most prepare for the worst. Zombie apocalypse, rise of the machines, Ebola, who knows?!! Have fun with the game at any rate, lol. :)

    ReplyDelete
  21. I don't think I could play that pandemic game right now (though it sounds interesting!) as I'm getting more paranoid as the death toll goes up! It doesn't help that I'm currently reading apocalypse books to scare myself!

    ReplyDelete
  22. So far, the flu shot has been working, and I've not picked up any sniffles, thank goodness, and there's not been any real winter here in NC to speak of. I feel like I've been reading much more, but I'm also never far away from Netflix either, Gorgeous Greg!(lol) Hugs, RO

    ReplyDelete
  23. Haha, I've been meaning to check out the Pandemic game. Sounds like it's a lot of fun :)

Songs from the Deep is definitely on my radar.

I hope you have a great week ahead and we don't get hit with more snow!

    ReplyDelete
  24. Hopefully the game is educational in the way of pandemics? I've seen so many people talking about coronavirus and zombies together... maybe it's a face-eating Florida Man thing. lmao I guess I'll stick to hibernation and wandering the wild spaces away from people again this year. :)
    Have a great one, Greg!

  25. People seem to have gone a little nuts over this virus, though I’m kinda glad I live far from any major population centers so the risk is practically zero. Pandemic is on my list of board games to try though.

Wishing you a great reading week

  26. I like Pandemic! We have fun with co-op games. Another fun one is Forbidden Island.

    ReplyDelete
  27. We hardly ever get snow but the couple of times that we have it was nice to see the sun come out and shine on it.

  28. It's the time of year when hibernating seems a good option. Thank you once more for your fabulous slew of pics. That Lock Ness one is genuinely creepy! Have a great week, Greg.

    ReplyDelete
  29. Am I allowed to hybernate with you Greg? Because we have a big storm right now and ...well...

    1. Yes hibernating is good! Especially since I just saw Europe was getting hurricane level type winds??

  30. I wouldn't mind hibernating for a couple of weeks. I always feel exhausted during this time of the year.

I've been wanting to play Pandemic, it's been on my wishlist for some time! I'm happy to hear you enjoyed it! It does sound like a fun playing against the game.
Do you have other boardgame recommendations?

    Have a wonderful week!

  32. Everyone has said that January dragged but the winter seems to be moving along to me lol We're already getting some buds on the trees and bulbs.

I have been reading. Finally!! We're watching the series - Pandemic on Netflix. Good times considering real life lol

  33. It has been mid to high 70's here and I was starting to get a lil excited. :deadpan face: Tonight it's supposed to snow and last until Wed. Mind you, I live in the desert. LoL I'm not going to lie, though, I'm kind of excited to see snow, but then it can jump back up to the 70's. LoL

  34. It has been chilly, but beautiful! I am in total agreement! This is the kind of weather where you don';t want to get out of bed, and just want to bundle up all of the covers! It looks like you have some good books on your shelves Greg! I was eyeing Songs from the Deep. Have a great week :)

  35. We've been lucky with Spanish weather this winter and February is particularly nice - so far at least! Had a cycle ride alongside a canal this afternoon and a hill walk planned for tomorrow so no hibernating here

  36. Did your Pandemic come in that cool case like in the gif? That looks sweet! Your week sounded a bit like mine. Let's hope we both have more productive weeks this week!

    ReplyDelete
  37. Yes, I feel like I hibernated a bit last week. I went out only day this past week after getting work done, but stayed in the rest. Love sunshine days when there is snow on the ground, too. :) I think spring may be a little late for us since winter has been showing up a lot lately here. LOL

Pandemic is definitely an apropos game these days.

    Love the cheetah pic!

    Have a good week, Greg!

  38. Good Girls Lie looks like an interesting book. And I like the Loch Ness Monster picture :) Have a great week!

    ReplyDelete
  39. Yeah probs not the best time for that game, and sure makes some series and books read more like non-fiction! Have a great week Greg!

    ReplyDelete
  40. It appears like a great stack of books. A cold February is a time for warm soup and some good bookks.

    ReplyDelete
  41. I am glad you didn't get a lot of snow! That groundhog better know what he is talking about since he didn't see his shadow and that means an early spring...lol.

Interesting game to play that is for sure...lol.

Have a great week and happy reading!

  44. I'm not a big gamer at all, but this week I bought a used copy of a crappy PS2 game I used to play, so I've been playing that a lot haha

  45. I know what you're saying. I'm reading The Stand and with the coronavirus it seems to be hitting closer to home. Plus I just want to finish it so there's that! I can't wait for your thoughts on Good Girls Lie. I remember my tag on that one was Everybody Lies! Hope you loved it as I know how much you were looking forward to it!

  50. Oooh I love sun shining on snow! We have been getting a lot of snow here in Colorado so far this February with more foretasted tonight! Yesterday it was super sunny and snowing really hard at the same time. It was really weird but super cool! I hope you have a good week!

  51. I'm not much of a gamer myself but Pandemic sounds pretty interesting. Mario Kart Tour is what has been occupying my downtime whenever I'm not reading.

  52. If you want to keep with the pandemic theme, A Beginning at the End by Mike Chen is for you. My weekly update

  53. The new game is certainly in keeping with real life!

  54. Our weather here in Arizona has been really mixed up, too. We've had rain, thunderstorms, really cold weather (for real - it was in the 30's!), and then days when it was in the 60's. Weird. I'll take it all rather than have the icky 100+ degree days that will be here before we know it!

    ReplyDelete
  55. It's been extremely windy here as of late. We got a little rain this past Sunday, which was nice though. I am looking forward to spring though. Pandemic sounds like a fun game. But, yeah, with the Coronavirus, it might not be the best time for the game. The people who had been quarantined at the nearby base were released today. Sisters of the Vast Black looks really good. I hope you are enjoying your current reads! Have a great week, Greg!

  56. Feeling like hibernating is quite natural this time of year - wouldn't mind doing so myself. Ha!
