Hey we broke 50's a couple times this week. Amazing! The Olympics are winding down and I didn't watch as much this time around, although it was on in the background a lot. I'm more of a summer games fan anyway, but there have been some nice moments. Other than that I had a good reading week, I finally finished The Vault of Dreamers. Next up, after I complete the series, is People Like Us.

Last week I reviewed This Fallen Prey and will be reviewing What Alice Knew this week. Also the Marriage Pact as well.

This Fallen Prey (Casey Duncan, #3)People Like Us

    1. Aren't those cool? And no I don't think Tomorrowland was used by Disney it by an artist named Laurent Durieux... he has some amazing art!

  4. As much as I loved watching the Olympics, it took too much time from my usual reading away *lol* And that they were happening in the middle of the night wasn´t helpful either *smile*

Seems like you were reading some thrillers lately. Looking forward to read your reviews.

    Best wishes

    1. Yeah the timing doesn't always work. and even having them on in the background took away from reading for me too.

  8. I loved the Jaws movies. They were so much fun especially the first one. It was 45 here yesterday and in the low 50's today. I had to put a sweater on.

  10. Oh wow, you read The Marriage Pact? Did you like it? I pretty much liked it :)
I am not a fan of winter Olympics either :D I am glad this whole thing is over now :)

Your new books look good. I hope you enjoy them. Have a lovely weekend!

  12. Wednesday it was 80. I had shorts on. The next day was 45. Lol why can't it just find a middle!!!.

I am LOVING the images you picked this week. My daughter and I one night watched The Creature from the Black Lagoon and my daughter was so mad they tried to kill the Creature. I really did think he was misunderstood ;) I LOVE the poster.

Have a great week, Greg! Happy Reading! :)

  13. I watched a fair amount of the Olympics, though a lot of the stuff I liked was on late, such as figure skating. I'm curious about People Like Us. Hope it's a good one.

  14. Our weather has been all over the place. As long as 40s some days and I think we hit a record high on Thursday.

Oh my, those vintage movie posters are something, especially the one for Jaws. It looks so relaxing and calm, lol.

  15. It's been darn near tropical here in NC, and driving me and my allergies bonkers. Looking forward to some cool weather supposedly the end of the week. Who doesn't remember the classic Jaws from way back in the day. Very cool to see again. Happy Saturday! Hugs...RO

  16. We;ve been at 80 all week with plenty of sunshine! I'm loving all of the illustrations and book covers. The Jaws ones would be great to frame and hang on my wall!

  17. Hey, we got to the 70s this week. I even slept with the A/C on one night. I soooooo want to read People Like Us! I am so jealous you have that book. I hope it's fabulous.

  19. I love that art, especially Jaws and the ones with the Octupi. Is octupi right? Too lazy too look it up. I saw Aerosmith in concert twice when I was in college. They are such an awesome group and what longevity. Hope you have a great week Greg!

  20. Yay for warmer weather. We had the Olympics on in the background too. I prefer the summer as well. Have a great week!!

  22. We were in the 40's here and that was great for us. So many great posters. All good. My favorites are Visit Tomorrowland, both Jaws, Floating Pizza, Night Lights and a la plage. How I wish I was that talented.

  24. Your art game is on point this week, even more than usual. I love every one of these! The Visit Tomorrowland and Forbidden Planet ones are my faves, but love 'em all really. The summer games really are better. Especially by the time the winter ones get to the halfpipe snowman contest. OH! Speaking of halfpipe, did you see the girl from the US who competed for Hungary who is um... not of Olympic caliber? Watch. You're welcome :D http://www.nbcolympics.com/news/how-freeskier-elizabeth-swaney-made-it-olympics-simple-halfpipe-run?utm_tags=oly1001 The part where she cheers for her own self while everyone stares at her is the BEST. And how the commentators are just... so lost bwahha.

  26. I think I've mentioned before how much I love the vintage art style, and I especially enjoy seeing poster art inspired by some of my favorite movies. The first Jaws poster is colorful but a bit meh for me though. I guess the black section of the umbrella was supposed to symbolize a fin? Doesn't really work for me. No shark, no deal!

  27. It broke into the 70s for a day last week--so nice. I barely watched the Olympics this time around either. I was just busy these last couple of weeks. Hope you love People Like Us!

  28. Believe it or not, but Southern California has been freezing, and windy! We went from the 80s to 50s with wind during the day and down to 20s & 30s at night. The climate here is a bit bipolar I think.

So thrilled you enjoyed This Fallen Prey as well! Can't wait til the next one! :)

  29. I'm at my parents house this week and so far the weather has been cold and windy, with just a dusting of snow last night. 50's is almost a heat wave. People Like Us sounds interesting, I always do enjoy a good mystery. Glad to hear you had a good reading week.

  34. I loved the Marriage Pact! What a interesting story about a group of people. Have a great week.

  35. Actually I do like the winter Olympics just as well as the summer ones, but only select features: speed skating, bobsled, skeleton, anything that's not ice dancing!

Love your posters this week-- thanks for a blast from the past... Tomorrowland, wow, Jaws (1st only, of course)... and what a cheesy Agatha Christie cover!

I read and loved This Fallen Prey, actually that whole series is awesome. And Vault of Dreamers has been on my radar for quite a while, just not sure if I should read it.
Have a good week, Greg, enjoy!

  36. I thought the Peter and Wendy poster was for Psycho at first glance. Ha! 😂

We had a couple of really warm days here, too, but we are back in the 20s/30s range again. I did see some 40s for next week though. Spring cannot come soon enough.

Forbidden Planet and Creature from the Black Lagoon are two of my favorite movies. I loved all the poster artwork, and the Areosmith again. Have a wonderful week.☺

  37. I've been hooked on the Olympics so it's been a good crocheting month but less reading time. The vintage artwork is so cool, especially the Tomorrowland one. What Alice Knew looks good, enjoy your reading week!

  38. I am really going to miss the Olympics - though I'm guessing that my productivity will be improved if I don't keep breaking off to sit down and watch yet another spell-binding competition featuring snow, courage and comradeship. Loving this week's visual offerings, Greg and I hope you have a great week:)

  39. The Body in the Library is a favourite of mine and that cover is so nice!

    Love the posters for Jaws!

  40. Love the posters! Especially the Peter Pan, Jules Verne and H. G. Wells ones! Have a great week and happy reading!

  41. Not a sports fan so I pretty much never watch the Olympics but I have caught more of the summer than winter if I do watch any. Now that I just stream my TV I don't have to worry about things like that taking over my TV channels unless I want them too...lol.

I love all those movie/book posters, although I think the Jaws one needed a shark fin in the water. :) I loved how the Jaws 2 had a fin out of the water wave.

I am curious about People Like Us so I hope you enjoy it!!

  45. You are making me want to replace my entire Agatha Christie collection with books with great covers! I love the graphic for Peter Pan and Wendy too. It's been warm here but is about to get cold. I'm not sure how I feel about it - we'll see how cold it gets! I'm always surprised by how quickly the Olympics end - I never feel like I watch as much as I mean too. Have a great week!

  51. Loving that vintage Jaws poster! That's our family's favorite movie - my sister actually has a tatoo of the shark. Umm... and that Agatha Christi cover looks terrifying. No wonder I don't go to the library much anymore. Scary place! ;)

  56. Wow, fabulous art-work this week. I think I like the winter olympics more than the summer, crazy extreme snowboarding. On the other hand the Uk does better in the summer ones, we didnt embaress ourselves this year though.

  57. Ooh, I spot a Kate Bishop Hawkeye title there! I really need to catch up on my comics. :)

  58. I was happy to see warmer weather. We had one nice day when it was in the 70s last week and then lots of rain and the temperatures dropped. I think it's supposed to be in the 50s this week. Hope we've seen the end of winter but as I live in NE Ohio, I know better! Glad you had some warmer weather and a good reading week. I read a lot over the long weekend but not as much this past week.

  67. What Alice Knew looks interesting. Yay for the temp! Ours decided to go hot so we've been in the 80s a few days which is a smidge too much for Feb, really. lol But 50/60s at night has been wonderful.

  68. I didn't watch any of the Olympics this time around. I'm also a Summer Games fan and watch all of those events, especially diving and gymnastics. We got into the 70s last week! It was so nice. I can't wait for winter to be over.

  69. I read The Vault of the Dreamers as an ARC but haven't carried on with the series. The Olympics were also mostly background noise to me. I did pay a bit closer attention to the hockey when the Americans were playing. After last week's snow, we are expecting high 30s this week. I'll take it! Come see my week here. Happy reading!
