Sunday Post #204

The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimba the Caffeinated Book Reviewer

This has been a good week. Quiet, not a lot happening. Trying to get caught up on shows and read a bit.  I'm finishing up on Shetland and looking for something to watch after that! I bought a Paperwhite this week too (don't laugh Karen!!!).

Part four of On The Run will be up early in the week. And I'm reviewing Game of Thrones on Mondays, so stop by! Oh and a little news I found interesting- one of my favorites has expanded into Chicago. Yes the Safehouse is now providing safe haven for agents on the run (or who just want a drink). I've been to the original many times but I think the Chicago location looks great w/ updated decor. If you're in Chicago area check it out. It helps to know the password...

This week I reviewed Obsidian and Stars and I have a review coming up for The Secret History Of Us, which I really liked.

Obsidian and Stars (Ivory and Bone, #2)The Secret History of Us

  1. Blade Runner is a classic that I've always enjoyed. I'm curious, since you're a fan of GOT, how did you feel about Ed Sheeran, who I love, in his mini role? I thought he looked the part and played his part well from the snippet I saw. I couldn't understand why there was such an uproar from fans. I digress. I love the design of that bar. Very cool. Pizza Pic is cool. Happy Saturday!

    1. You know I didn't really have an opinion on Ed either way. I don't really know his music? But when I saw the backlash I thought it was rather harsh- I mean why not, if he wants to cameo? No big deal for me.

I want to go to that pizza joint!!

  3. Yay for a quiet week!! We've just got Netflix, and I see they have Shetland on there. So hopefully I'll try it sometime and see what it's like!

I am SO excited for the new Blade Runner. I never saw the original, but I'm loving the look of the remake. Ford and Gosling look terrific. Can't wait!

Hope you have a great reading week ahead and enjoy the rest of your weekend :)

  5. Not much planned for this week other than getting my dad to watch as much GoT as possible! He just watched the purple wedding and is in shock but I'm more shocked by the dreadful performance of my team live on tv today. 4-0 down and it's not halftime yet. Ugh! A girl has big excitement for the next S7 episode!

  10. YAY for more On the Run! Also, you KNOW what you should watch next. You should rewatch The 100. Obviously. While SDCC has it fresh in your mind ;) Also, you're going to need to pick a new show for me to watch soon. SAD. I have heard such good things about the Paperwhite- sometimes I think I should switch from the Fire (because the Fire is so damn heavy!). I hope you love it!

Safehouse looks SO fun! I love that idea! I'm glad you liked The Secret History of Us, too. And just when you think America is the most embarrassing ever (and we are, obviously) Taiwan goes ahead and takes the pressure off a little hahahha.

    1. Thanks! And I have to say (I know, I know, I keep saying iy) but watching The 100 panel made me want MORE of these characters. So I may tackle S1! And if you want my opinion, the next show you should watch is 12 Monkeys. I know, it sounds weird (forget the movie) but I'm telling you it's the characters. Or maybe Riverdale. Tell ya what, put em both on your list. :):):)

I like the PAperwhite because it's so light and easy to use.

Dude the Safehouse is awesome. Although after a few times the novelty wears off. But I love that it's in an alley, hard to find... :)

  25. I am curious about the new Blade Runner but I also keep thinking don't they have any other ideas out there! Why do they keep trying to redo the originals or make sequels to ones that don't really need one.

I guess I don't know what Will is but I have heard mention of it somewhere so I guess I should look it up. :)

I'm not sure Blade Runner needed a re-do? BUt what do I know!
