Jingle All The Way Tag

I was tagged for this one by the always awesome Anna over at Adventures With A Book Nerd. The tag itself was created by Lefty at The Left- Handed Book Lover and is a lot of fun- so even though Christmas is over, when I saw Anna's post I knew I had to do it. So here we go- and thanks Anna!!!

JINGLE BELLS
A fun, light-hearted book/ series

Love & Gelato

I SAW MOMMY KISSING SANTA CLAUS
A book/ series with a scandalous romance

The Girl from the Sea

There's a pretty illicit romance in this one that causes some problems

I'LL BE HOME FOR CHRISTMAS
A book/ series you are determined to re- read

Eight Hundred Grapes

SANTA CLAUS IS COMING TO TOWN
Your most anticipated release of 2017

Winter of the Gods (Olympus Bound, #2)

This is the second of the Immortals series and it was hard to pick one but this is definitely top of the list.

SILENT NIGHT
A beautiful book/ series that everyone knows

Big Little Lies

I'll go with this one since it's pretty popular and will be even more so after the HBO show

WINTER WONDERLAND
A book/ series with great worldbuilding

The Winds of Winter (A Song of Ice and Fire, #6)

Yeah I know it's not out yet but this series has phenomenal worldbuilding. And hey, winter, right??

GO TELL IT ON THE MOUNTAIN
An underhyped book/ series that is so great you want to tell everyone about it

The Blue

I push this book a lot because I liked it and I see few reviews

I SAW THREE SHIPS
Favorite trilogy

The Lord of the Rings (The Lord of the Rings, #1-3)

Technically this was one novel divided into three parts but these days it's widely called a trilogy

RUDOLPH THE RED-NOSED REINDEER
A book/ series with a underdog protagonist who rises up

Sanctuary Bay

This could be any of a zillion post- apocs or dystopians (I almost went with The Hunger Games here) but I'll go with Sanctuary Bay. The protagonist is definitely an underdog and she definitely has the odds against her!

HAVE YOURSELF A MERRY LITTLE CHRISTMAS
A book/ series that helped get you through troubling times

Planet of Exile

I don't know about tough times but it is a comfort read of sorts- I read it a lot and it's a fast re- read at only 124 pages or so. I read it as a kid so it's nostalgia value in a lot of ways.

I tag... anyone who wants to do it!

    1. I can't wait for Big Little Lies. In fact I was going to cancel my HBO NOW but when I saw that was coming I was like no way! And Girl From The Sea, while not excellent, has a NICE twist!

    1. Big Little Lies is so good, such a fun read. HBO is changing things around (the book is set in Australia, the show in California) but I'll still watch. :)

    1. I loved Eight Hundred grapes.

Book one is The Immortals and if you like urban fantasy, or the idea of Greek gods in NYC, it's a winner.

  5. Awesome, awesome post! I love this idea but I think I'll pass since I'm taking a mini break now. Love the way you tied the books into the categories. I want to read Eight Hundred Grapes and also the series by Brodsky. I have both of those on my wishlist to look for.

I've seen the trailer for Big Little Lies playing on HBO constantly. Wow, they've made it seem like the old show Dallas, on steroids. I want to catch this one and see how they've interpreted it. Thanks for sharing your ideas here.

    1. Thanks Rita. I think you'll like Eight Hundred grapes, and the Brodsky book.

I'm a little concerned about the changes to Big Little Lies (not least of which changing the Australian character to US) but I'll definitely since I loved it!

  6. What a fun tag! I haven't read the first book in The Immortals series yet but wow, that cover is just incredible. I also had no idea that Big Little Lies was going to be on HBO. I'm definitely going to have to check out that one! Happy Holidays!

  7. I have to read Planet of the Exile. I saw it earlier in the year on Talitha's blog. I had never seen it before. Even though I don't like the God/Godesses thing you are starting to sell me on the Brodsky books. Ha ha. XD

  10. There were a lot of books here which I don't know of.. But fun tag! Christmas has gone, so maybe I will do it next year? (it only depends on the fact whether I can remember it for next year or not. XD)

  11. Fun tag! And now you have me curious about the romance in The Girl from the Sea. I also love that you used a book that's not even out yet for great world-building. It's kinda like how I have a book on my favorites shelf on GR even though it's not out yet either lol. Sometimes when a book is part of a series, you just *know*.

    1. Ooh there's a nice twist in Girl From The sea. And I know right? Although to be fair I know from the previous books that the worldbuilding is there- but you're right sometimes you just know.

  12. All I'll say about GRRM is that I won't hold my breath that the book will be published on time... it would be a MIRACLE if it did!!!! I'm not too bitter.. NOOOOOOOOOOO!!! It's not like I refuse to watch the show or read his books anymore... ;)

Moving on... Happy New Year, Greg!! I will have to check out 8 Hundred Grapes, I see it everywhere!

  13. Love this creative post that you were tagged for. The fact you want to reread Eight Hundred Grapes remind me it was once on my list to read. I loved Ursula LeGuin's Wizard of Earthsea but not familiar with Planet of Exile.

  14. This was a really fun book tag! I'm hoping to read Love & Gelato in 2017. I've had Big Little Lies on my audio TBR so way too long!

  15. Fun tag. I wish I had seen this a couple of weeks ago, would have made for a good holiday post.
Wishing you a very happy new year.

  16. Fun tag! And yay, Lord of the Rings! I always feel like a movie marathon during the holiday season :) Happy New Year!

  17. My brother made me read Lord of the Rings before the movie came out. I spent my whole summer reading it and I'm glad I did. I love the cover of Winter of the Gods.

    Thanks for sharing! ~Aleen

  18. You know, I stopped participating in tags and awards because they're so time-consuming. I do enjoy answering questions, or picking books to recommend, as is the case with this tag. However, I hesitate to contact other bloggers to tell them I've tagged or "nominated" them. I don't want anyone to feel obligated to create a tag or award post if they really don't want to. So I have stopped doing tags and awards.

I like your solution to this thorny little issue! Instead of "nominating" or tagging people, you have simply announced that you will tag anyone who wants to participate. That lets people off the hook. Now why didn't I think of that? Lol.

I LOVE this particular tag!! I'm a HUGE fan of Christmas! I ADORE anything related to this beautiful holiday! And this tag is certainly a very creative one!

"The Lord of the Rings" means a great deal to me, so I'm VERY glad you picked it as one of your tag categories! Ditto for the LeGuin book! The others I'll have to check out further on Goodreads.

Thanks for sharing! Hope you and your family had a WONDERFUL New Year's Eve celebration!! :) :) :)
