Sunday Post #151

The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimba the Caffeinated Book Reviewer

This week has been hot! Muggy for half of the week then it moderated a bit, but it's definitely summer. Spent a little time at the water this week so that was nice. Not a bad week. Reading... not so good. I have my next few books lined up, which is good for me since I'm a mood reader, but this week was not a great reading week.

I did something a little different this week and posted my thoughts on Star Wars VII- What I Would Have Done. That was a fun post to write. And I returned to Top Ten Tuesday and also shared some reviews (12 Monkeys and Dark Matter) and of course Bookcover Spotlight. This next week I'll be sharing a post on Weird Book Titles along with the usual stuff.

Time Siege (Time Salvager #2)The Girls in the Garden

Did anyone see this? It's a lot of fun.

  5. Ahhh, the beach! I haven't been to a beach of any sort in such a long time. I need a vacation! Especially from this heat and humidity. It's terrible!

I hope you have a great week, Greg!

I'm glad you got to get into the water a bit last week, even if that may have participated in your not reading very much ;)

  9. I always look forward to reading your blog with all the lovely artwork - the last one is marvellous though I'm very glad I'm not on that raft... We are - finally - having some decent weather, so hope to wander down to the beach of an evening to enjoy the setting sun when most of the holidaymakers have gone. I missed the start of Dark Matter, but have downloaded the first two episodes and am all set to have a viewfest when I've got through some of the work piling up as a reward:). Have a great week, Greg.

  10. It's definitely been hot and humid here too. But that's great that you got to go to the beach at least.

Sorry you didn't have a very good reading week, but I'm still looking forward to your review of The Wanderers since I swear you've been mentioning that book for months now lol.

    1. Ugh hate the humidity. But it was nice to escape to the beach...

You're right, the Wanderers has been on my TBR forever. Since last fall, probably. Funny thing is, I ordered from Amazon and it was the wrong book! Same title, different author. I reported Amazon and a while back ordered again- same thing!! They still had not fixed it. So that's part of the problem... :) I could just buy it physical but nah...

  13. Is it fall/winter yet? The weather has been so hot and muggy I can't wait for the cooler weather. I have been reading but for some reason I have been reading very slow. Love the pictures, the pirate one you had a few weeks ago I am using as my background on my computer. I totally love it! :)

Have a great week, Greg! Stay Cool! Happy Reading!

  17. It was a cement swampland around here! Ugh, so hot and sticky. Bleh. This weekend has been lovely though. I love the Westeros Pokemon!! LOL! We got hooked on the Pokemon Go craze, our local park is filled with so many people playing every day it is insane. I haven't seen that many people there and outside in a very long time.

Hope you have a great week! Here's my Sunday Post.

PS I finally started Game of Thrones this week and I'm loving it!!! Why did I ever wait so long?!

  27. Seems like many of us aren't in the mood for reading when it's so hot and muggy out there.

Thanks for the Marcella recommendation. I'll check it out.

    Have a great week!

  28. I started watching Bloodline after reading about it on your blog. Just getting in to it now. The weather has been muggy here too. Different also in that it rains earlier in the day. usually the heat of afternoon brews the storms, but they seem to come early this year. Great books this week. And loving the pics!

  32. My favorite pictures this week are the real ones. The water is the only thing I miss from when I lived in the Pacific NW (instead of the desert SW). And it is very hot here too, but thankfully not muggy.

  38. It's been hot here too though we did have a little bit of a break on Saturday which worked out great as some my library's Comic Con activities for children were outside (including a Pokemon Go walk).

I love the Pokemon Go interpretation of the Houses of Westeros :)

  39. I haven't been in the mood for reading either, and it's hot where we are too. The humidity is awful.
Time Siege looks like it could be a good one! I LOVE that Journey to the Center of the Earth image!

  40. Lol, did that pulp cover woman forget her shirt-- is she jealous or free? I love your beachy photos, very good snaps!

I am psyched to hear that Bloodline has been renewed-- I needed to know what happens to the sheriff as he drives into the sunset with figurative blood on his hands!

    Have a great week, Greg!

  41. Thanks for the roundup. I love the Pokemon Westeros style! Pop culture really dictates that I should probably try and find out more about this phenomenon but I'm not actually sure I want to! I do find all the little memes interesting though.
