Sunday Post #99

The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimba the Caffeinated Book Reviewer

This was a good week, I got some reading done and spent some time working on new features for the blog. Temperatures have been mild and it's been a nice summer so far.

Also I was asked to participate in the Mind Meld interview feature at SF Signal. I was honored to be asked and it was a lot of fun. The feature should be up next week, and the discussion is how do you prioritize your TBR reads.

This week I reviewed Time Salvager - it was good to get to this one as I had been anxiously waiting for it. It didn't disappoint- my thoughts here. I also posted Bookcover Spotlight #4 - another look at a great science fiction cover. Next week I have a good one- switching gears to fantasy this time.

Liane Moriarty has been on my wishlist for a very long time and the Great Lakes Island Adventure looks interesting. Now I must go try that pizza crust recipe! Have a great week!

  7. Thanks for the Star Wars Comic-con link. The TBR post sounds interesting. I will be looking for that because I am always up for prioritizing tips! We have had a little too much rain here in Upstate NY, but I am loving the mild temps we are having here, too. Have a fab week. :)

  8. Nice to have a little win. They bring joy! North looks enticing hope you get to enjoy it there soon. I have Big Little Lies on my shelf to read since it came out. Ouch! But I will get to it.

  9. I love that coffee table book! The Great Lakes are, I realize now, not the same as the Boundary Waters where my friend had her life and death canoe trip. She cataloged it on her blog - http://juliarachelbarrett.net/2010/08/life-and-death-in-the-boundary-waters/ - seriously funny lake story.

  10. The weather has been mild here in Iowa since our return from vacation. Although the heat and humidity is suppose to bump up today. I took advantage of the cooler weather this morning and ventured out to the Barn for a quick ride. Have a great week, Greg.

  11. Lots of wonderful books in many genres! Big Little Lies is one I'd like to read this summer. The view up north is stunning, second only to a beach in the Caribbean.

  12. Summer is definitely passing too fast... the season is so darn short! I really enjoyed Big Little Lies (look forward to your thoughts) and keep meaning to read another of her books. Maybe The Husband's Secret next. Have a good week!

  15. We're having some nice weather here as well, not too warm, but mostly sunny. It's a bit cloudy and windy today though. That cover for Big Little Lies looks fun and pretty with all those colours. I saw that Star Wars comic con feature on facebook this week, it looks great! I am really excited for this movie. I love Star Wars! I am currently watching the Clone Wars animated series and love it! Have a great week!

  16. Hi Greg,
Sounds like a fun week! :D I prioritise my tbr list... never, lol. The actual book off it though I just skim through until one peeks my interest. I think it's the only disorganised part of my bookish life. I do keep it pruned though!
Have a great week Greg and thanks for visiting my blog :D

    1. That's the same one. I need to read it- I think it will be fun! I'd like to do a discussion post or maybe even an interactive story based on those, we'll see if I can come up with anything. :)

  20. Paperback Parlor looks so cute! I need to find a nice book related mystery series, I used to read The Cat Who series which was more literary since the main character was a writer but I want one set in a bookshop. I want my weather to feel how that picture looks. It's just so hot and humid here...you're either burning to death under the sun or drowning in the wet air. Not pleasant at all.

  21. I find it fascinating that you are able to find books about your part of the world. I'm glad. It seems meaningful when I read about places I know.

    Have a great week!

  24. We love up north! We are not going this year due to the little man, but next year we have a trip already planned ~ my brother is expecting his first child next month, and two of my friends are having babies as well within three weeks of that! We are planning a trip with all our families and babies.

Land of 10,000 Madonnas sounds interesting!

  27. We are not able to get "Up North" this summer due to my daughter buying a house and all that goes with it, taking a month long working vacation to Alaska to help my mom empty her condo and move it all to Florida. This coming weekend is supposed to reach 90!
